Hi Srikant,
Completed the FG Van Line today, I want to use two drive system with 400 size brushed motors, instead of one. I think these motors will be fine for a normal speed and short during of sailing.

Sb_Maharana

I am expecting it to be around 3 kg after completion.

Rooster

Awesome!
Glad you are building a speed boat.
Thats an awesome build. What is the weight of Just the Hull? POst more pictures
What was the mould made off? This would be interesting to make all future models.

I don't have a proper weighing machine, but a round big one used in medicals. Anyways presently it won't cross 2.5 kg max. I made two piece mold with FG. Will update the rest as on progress.

some more pic. after first coat of painting.

gr8 one Mr Maharana, is it Scratch built or Plan built ? ;)
Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Sb_Maharana

At present it is a hopeless build, let us see how things come up after fixing the drive system, electronics etc.

On my next build I will remember those points, will make an affidavit, whether it is going to be a scratch / plan / kit build.

hi Sb_Maharana ,
looking at the pictures the boat looks good,
it's a pity you don't feel it is as good as you wanted, these thoughts can be soul destroying .
it would be good to see it on the pond.

Thanks Ashish & Akash,
Preparing a good surface is important before each paint job, smooth & shiny surface will produce a quality paint job on a dry weather. I did the colour separation with tapes and the blue border is plane sticker (Royal blue). Getting the right Font & logo (ps format) took some time. I will cut down the names & logo at local auto-sticker shop. Purchased some motors & escs & not yet planned for the drive system.

I live in a small town with limited resource. I could not use gel coat, hopefully next time I can do with gel coat.

Hi Sb_Maharana,

Your Speed boat built has come out exceptionally well. The mould quality and finish has come out excellent. The painted finished product with decals will look straight from towers.  {:)}  {:)}  {:)}

Please share with us your technique on fiberglass mold and casting, Raw materials required for casting and their sources.

Sundaramvelar Sir,
I already mentioned the requirements of raw material for FG:
http://www.rcindia.org/tools-materials-and-building-techniques/fiber-glass-cloth/msg58142/#msg58142
One correction there, Cost for one liter resin Rs. 130/-.
I don't have much intermediate photos except this one.

Rooster

Hey Maharana,
Awaiting update eagerly. I am sure by now lots has been done knowing your speed.

Shreekant

Sb_Maharana

Hi Sreekant,
No progress since last 15 days, got some time today to complete the tail wing section. It will take another week or so to complete it in all respect. Got a 500 Watt motor & esc. Yet to purchase LiPo, Propeller etc.

Sb_Maharana

The boat is almost ready, off water test was fine, but motor & esc don't look too convincing for a fast drive.
Uploading some of the photographs.
