Surprisingly, the motor and/or the ESC are not getting hot at all. Once they are under load (model is in water) things may change.

No sorry, I don't remember. I use whatever carton my neighbourhood shoe shop / alcohol shop can supply me. They are sturdy enough to withstand the rigours of postal travel / travails. By the way, they are known the world over as 'Putt Putt Boats' - so much for onomatopoeic descriptions.

Boat weighs 2.1 Kgs. With the antenna inside the hull, I am getting an operating range of at least 200 feet + ( Took the Tx, got into my car and drove away - all controls worked fine - wifey on the cellphone providing feedback) more than enough for me.
