karankatiyar

hi friends
i'm a beginner in this rc field and lukng forwrd 2 take part in rc comp.
i'm getting confused in many rc models while selectin a car so pls could sum1 suggest me a gud model to start with under 30k or so......electric or nitro anything........!!!!!!

rajathv8

#1
First you need to decide on electric or nitro. If you have someone to help you out in person go for nitro else go for an electric. Soon Gandhar will be here and he wll tell you to buy the slash :D

What kind of car are you looking for? For RC comp buggy is preffered however it depends on which class you want to take part in.

Is it ONLY for competition or will you bash also?

Well,I would say go electric.I would suggest the slash 4x4.Now this is assuming you want to bash in Rajasthan. You can have tons of fun on sand with a slash 4x4 with paddle tires.

You could take a look at the Thunder Tiger MT4 G3 which is an even better basher IMO.Its a MT so you should have more fun bashing. It might go a little over 30k if you include batteries.

Now all this is assuming  you want to bash. You need to tell us what you intend to do with your car.

Also, since you have listed your skills as 'intermediate',have you had any other hobby grade RC cars?

Dude,my name is Gandhar ;D

Rajath,I didn't suggest a buggy since there are no tracks in Rajasthan. If the guy wants to move to a place with a track,a buggy might be advisable. For 30k,I can think of the Nexx8 but it might go over 30k.

And you were totally right in saying that I would suggest a slash ;D .Now Divyam is gonna come by and agree with me ;D

Waiting to tell you to buy a slash once you sell all your airplane stuff ;D

Electric or Nitro?
For electric, you could look at the Slash 4x4, E-Maxx, TT MT4 G3 (Little above your budget)..
Nitro - TT MT4 S2, HPI Savage (Little above your budget), Traxxas T-Maxx..

MT4 G3 should be your best bet.Its a good basher based on ST-1 ,its wider and has a higher ground clearance and has a advertised top speed of 80+km on a 6s battery.
It should handle far better them most monster trucks.

The Savage 2011 Kit comes with everything needed to run the car except the fuel. I'm not sure what the cost would be, but I'm guessing it should be within your budget or almost.

The Savage X RTR which I bought does not come true RTR out of the box. You will need the following:
Batteries for the Tx
Hump Pack or 4 AA cells for the Rx (Hump pack is the way to go)
Battery and charger for the RotoStart.
Glow Igniter and charger.
Last but not the least - Fuel :)

This would set you back by around 34-35k depending on what you buy.

PM Siddharth and he will point you in the right direction.
Terrain? If I cant Slash it, I'll Savage it!!

traxxrc1

Buy a Losi aftershock.
Losi india will soon launch it withing months.
Wont be anything more than 24-25k.
Plus you get extreme bashability and good price.
I'll be back.

Dude, savage x old one was price d slightly above 30k.
So no point getting this savage for anything less than 35-36k, reason being, this is heavier box so will ship for more, plus the car is almost $ 80 expensive then the older model so gonna be anything like 4-5k moer here in India than the older savage
I'll be back.

The slash 4x4 should fit your budget. The closest guy to you( geographically) is Siddharth from Tritech Hobbies. Then you've got Jayanth form Throttle RC or Kapil from Dogbone racing.

For me it was difficult too weather to go with electric or nitro. But went with electric to avoid maintenance. Again weather with crawler or Buggy, couldnt decide hence bought both ;)
