Considering a high budget, the Hot Bodies D8 Hara Edition, Losi 8ight 2.0 come to mind. These have good parts support in India. You can always buy the more exotic Serpent, XRay et cetera but parts have to be ordered from abroad. People are happy with their Mugens as well. ( But they order their parts from abroad)

With a good setup, Jammin cars can do pretty well too. They're supported very well in India.

If you come to prefer electrics, let me know. I can give you more precise info...

That was quite an info, thanks iamahuman
The Hot Bodies D8 Hara Edition and Losi 8ight 2.0 are available in India? If so how much would they cost? (complete set, excluding tx and rx ) I would like something that is available and supported in India as i don't want to take trouble ordering parts from abroad.

iamahuman

The Losi is supported by Dogbone Racing( Delhi) and the Hot Bodies is supported by Tritech Hobbies( Mumbai).

Not sure if the Hara Edition is in stock but I'm pretty sure the 8ight is because DBR just got a load of Losi stuff. Shoot an E-Mail off to those guys and you'll have your answers.

And it's nice seeing you on VRC Pro. When you get your adapter, let's race.

Hi menang .. where in bangalore are u based at? If u feel free i can show u both losi and hb d8 buggies .. there are two types of those buggies one is kit which u have to buildn assemble and rtr which comes assembled n ready torun with cheaper setup n equipments..(kits are the best but wallet burners) .. im in darjling at the moment .. pm me yer fone number n il call u wen im in bangalore to show u those buggies .. i hv kits

U can decide aftr seeing them  first hand ..

There are many oher buggies available .. but ul have to import them yerself .. but its betr to meet up .. see n decide ..

pravesh736

There are top 3 buggies in india wih spare support n dealers .. they are losi eight2.0, hb d8 hara and hongnor x3 sabre .. but i love my losis

pravesh736

Best is to buy kit as u already hve a good radio .. u hv to buy the ohther parts but the stock rtr parts will need to be replaced soon if u buy rtr anyway ..
Kit if budget not a problem

iamahuman

Pravesh filled in the other car. I forgot the X3 Sabre.(Sorry Murli :P)

Do you mean the rtr parts are not good enough?

Haha no problem

pravesh736

I dont deal with rc .. lol.  Im just a fellow hobbyist .. happy to help .. rtr equipments and parts are of slightly lower grade like servos will have to be changed .. engine too .. u get decent radios but u already have a god one .. kits are like one time investment .. in rtrs chassis, hingepins, shock caps, engines are all ok stuff .. raceable but ul will spend more money eventually wih rtrs than kits .. kits come with more robust parts

MenangJamir

Oh haha you meant you can show your buggies? Sorry i misunderstood you  ;D
So Losi 8ight 2.0 Ready to Run, Spektrum DX3S 2.4GHz Transmitter with integrated telemetry System cost Rs 41,000/- (http://www.dogboneracing.com/products.html) how much do you think i'l spend if I buy the kit and assemble myself, that is without the transmitter?

pravesh736

.. lol .. its ok .. il call u once im back to blore .. Kit will be expensive overall than the rtr losi .. but its much beter .. ul spend on kit plus engine pipe set plus servos and box .. rtr provides evrything but ul eventually hv to upgrade them .. the rtr makes a lot of sense tho if your on a budget

MenangJamir

MenangJamir

By the way was your losi RTR or kit?

pravesh736

All are kits(hb d8. Losis) .. but i had the rtr losi before .. i sold it long back

If you are serious about racing, want something that will run longer and better, suggest a kit/roller. You can get all items that is required to complete a kit in India. Engines, starter box, servos etc. you already have a good radio. Buggies are not meant to be bashed. So you need to have a nice surface/track to have fun.

If you only want to buy local, you are stuck with only 2 choices. Losi/Hongnor. Not sure what the scene with HB is now. But if you are willing to explore, you have lots of choices, Kyosho, mugen, serpent, X-ray. Importing gets too expensive.

I am serious and would like to get serious but I haven't even raced once  :giggle: so I want a decent car which i can get spares and service here in India, and later on if I progress maybe I'll go explore :)
Thought of going with LOsi 8ight 2.0 for now

And that's the thing I hate  >:(

Great choice. Choose your equipment, electronics, engine wisely. Spend a little more and get good stuff. Will go a long way. In rc everything is priced at a premium. The manufacturing cost will be mostly close. It's the brand, support etc what makes the difference.
