So..... Can a gyro be used for stabilizing cars while they are in air?
Using a gyro for drifting is another thing but what I want to ask is : can we use a gyro for the nitro, gas or electric cars to make them fly properly while they are in air.

The gyro can decrease or increase the angle as the case may be.....

I doubt this as the gyro needs to be hooked up to a servo to use it. On its own, a gyro won't do anything.

It would be better to practice jumping. :)

You can prob do that but not with a gyro alone..u need an accelerometer to measure acceleration in all three axis while in jump and then change CG of the car accordingly to balance the car in air.

I had seen a video sometime back where a bot was balanced in air using similar technique by moving a weight arm attached to it. cant find it though.

Its actually pretty simple technique but requires practice to balance the car angle while in air.

While the car is in air, if you accelerate (hit the throttle hard) the nose would raise up.

While the car is in air, if you break (hit the break or reverse in electric car) the nose will dip forward raising the tail/back of car up.

Not necessarily. The more subtle you are with the car, the better it is. Your Nexx8 should fly pretty well and you should line up with the jump and hit the face of of the jump straight. If one wheel goes off the face before the other, the car will angle itself laterally. Controlling the attitude (pitch) of the car in the air is fairly easy.
