I would say neither, spend a little more money and get atleast a TT EB4 S3 Buggy. The tomahawk series are not durable. I have seen it myself. I would suggest that for kids/pure begginers who dont want to grow up.

For college projects, you need a reliable car. EB4 S3 is cheap, has decent .28 engine, 2.4GHz Radio and is quite durable. Parts are also easily available. Dont even consider the CEN. You will not be able to find parts.

Its not that bad either, i fully agree that its not tough, but that doesn't mean its bad, its fast like hell,i have done 46mph on this car with 20% nitro and stock everything. With some on-road tires and opt gearing i am sure it can hit 50mph.

And BTW who would want his kid going 50mph..?
I'll be back.

My comments were for the college users. Going fast is not the point here. There will be multiple users, all kinds of terrain, so much fiddling with the basics, merciless yanking on the pull starter etc. I seriously doubt if the Tomahawk can take all that. I have seen serious abuse done to college cars. Moreover it should be easy to fabricate, must have 2.4 radio etc

Hyper 7 seems to be good on a budget, got one for Chennai boys from Singapore since only .21 engine was prefered. Works well still. But the car is no longer an Ofna, everything has been changed. No idea on the LRP. Both these cars are not raced extensively.

But I can vouch for the basics of the TT EB4. The car won the 2006 ROAR Nationals driven by Ryan Maifield. It may not be the RTR car that was raced, but basics are the same. I owned the ST-1 which is the Truggy version.

You can also consider the Hong Nor X1 or the Ultra LX1 when Murali (Joy racing hobbies) gets it. You will also get immense support/accessories from Murali. I have not seen many guys spending hours with college guys like Murali does. I generally avoid due to my work pressure.

Note to Admin:(Murali is a close friend, not promoting him, actually I need not, industry knows about him)

I agree in that case, even i agree that the engine is a pain in the beginning, but once it is properly brken in and tunes, its a charm...
