mail4ajo

You can use it. It has multiple channels. But not the most convenient.

But Ajo how can we use brakes in aircraft radio as the throttle stick is all the way down?

hellfire

I also believe the throttle stick doesn't have a spring to get it back to neutral.

Till about 10 years ago, many guys used aircraft type radios. Many old school guys still do.

They look like aircraft style radios but are optimized for surface.

How about throttle on the elevator and steering on the aileron or rudder channel? But it's not optimized for surface RC.

Ohkie .. those aircraft style looking radios are different than the aircraft ones .. they have a throttle, brake and stick return spring .. those kinds are still available .. futaba makes them and airtronics too

Hi.......

In mode 2, right side stick can be used to give throtal (up n down) ...........that stick have spring so come on center
and you can use left hand side stick (left/right) for stearing.......

Obviously you have you tune DX6i accordingly, but I have tryed on Turnigy9x and have to say yes you can do it....

We can use just leave the 3rd channel (in turnigy its for throtal) and you can use 1,2 or 4......

In nitro car,  100% possible  ;D..............in electric I have tusted, reverse/break/throtal was working but required tuning  :-\

Wat u are suggesting is correct but. People use right hand for steering and left hand for throttle.. only left handed people will be comfortable with mode 2 type setup .. betr to buy a futaba which is ready for action out of the box

gbisht

yeh parvesh : Totally agree with you, but I think ppl there who are heli flyer can perform both functions with only right stick, no need to use left hand.......haahah.

I m soooo confuse in heli flying..........but they manage all 4-6 channels..............hatsoff to them

Yes, very true ... maybe heli and plane people will prefer it this way cause they would be used to it .. but for pure car guys its mostly a no no

gbisht

Yeh Praveen.......Even I also cant handle it......or after using trigger style Tx you can go for other option, even I can drive Toy scale car....lol

Probable few....only few people in india like to fly his/her bird with Mode-1.

Did I use Her...........sorry ?? why we boy have all fun ??

i dont know about birds and all  .. but plane radio can be used only on few cars with mode 2, for racing its almost impossible with it .. i had the airplane type car radio 10 years back .. right hand steering as in pistol nowadays and left hand for throttle brake it had .. many things are possible but a rear wheel drive car cannot be driven backwards and be called a front wheel drive car .. lol ..

Friends.. when we consider a professional hobby radio set, there is no difference as Aero, Surface, or Water.. in some expensive radios, we can find a peculiar antenna system, to propagate the RF waves in a particular way, as directional or parabolic.. except this specs all radios are in basic, as you can see a potentiometer is attached to each branch of the encoder, as may be from 5 Kilo Ohms to 10 Kilo Ohms.. shape may vary, but functions are same.. and if you examine the internal of any radio, will find is all same in principle.. you can add a simple spring to any arm, of the control stics, so no issues with stopping at half or full.. for an experienced modeller, there is no head aches as Modes, and relevent control sticks.. you can add any control to any control stics, all up to you.. for an example, you can use the throttle stic, placed on the left side of your Tx, as FWD and REV by adding a spring on its centering lever.. thus the throttle stick came as FWD and REWV stick.. so, the brake will works when the stick reaches at 90 degree.. and you can also use a 3 channel Pistol type radio set to fly an aircraft with 3 channels.. only thing that you have to do, is removing it's spring from FWD and REV stick.. works nicely.. so, do not burn your brain a lots .. it all are same.. will add controlling various crafts with various radios, including a pistol type.. and one more thing.. as some international standards, we looks in to channels as we learned from manufactures.. but we can connect any surface, or mechanism, to any channels according to our use.. there is no restrictions.. means, you can use the throttle stic placed on left side of your TX, as FWD and REV controls by adding a simple spring on it's lever, ( this spring and lever sets came with radio, along with bind plug with most good radios ), while you can use the same stick as left and right control.. means, the throttle stick also acts as directional controls.. so, need only one stick.. for both operations.. so, we can use the second stick at right side for a second craft if you have a same identical receiver for the Tx.. can run two cars or boats in same while.. will share some expiriments with all radios, that proves we can use any radio for any craft, including flying a heli with a pistol radio..!!

and it is very easy to connect any radio to any crafts, that you need only some thinking about channels.. some reputed manufactures of radio sets, ueses some press lock mechanisms on the covers of radio, instead of screws, for a quick removal of back panel, to acces the internals, for a quick lever spring change, spring tension adjustments etc.. and all radios are baed on same principle as 1 to 2 micro pulses.. it encodes, and sends to a proper amplifier, to transmit to air.. as RF.. so, the RX will decodes it to operate servos.. the sending methods may vary.. but functions and principles are same.. so, we can connect any radio to any craft.. you can simply add a spring to throttle lever, and can stop it at 90 degree.. swithch on the TX at first, then RX.. it will automatically ranges the throttle range.. so, as brake and reverse.. can adjust the threshold with trimmers.. will work..
