Here are a couple of NitroRCX vids (they are slick) that show the drifters they sell, for around $100 US. As I stated previous, they are "spotty" as to reliability, but apparently are getting better, as I am not seeing nearly as many complaints now, as was seen last year and the year before.

No lights have been mounted yet, but with a paint job that loud, it wouldn't actually need them!

I drift at my home with Nissan GTR 500 Super GT . Brushless and Lipo upgraded.

Thanks Buddy The car in video is TC4 RTR Team associated, i had spent near about $500-$700 for changing this TC to drift car. I am big fan of RC Drift, but no time for me to practice  , Any how i really like the idea of Drift Club as per the thread.

Oh, from what I saw in the vid.....give the drifter a bit more throttle, and keep increasing, while keeping tight sweeps in that space. Don't try to pivot on the front wheels, but get the car to travel sideways, in as tight a circle as you can manage. I can do switchbacks in that space. Soon, with practice, you will too!!

Thanks again I am looking forward to drift with Rocky... I have seen TC6 awesome car with good features and lot of options. I am a big fan of associated as they have cars with good durability and quality stuff. I like to drift shaft driven cars  more than belt driven cars as I am more comfortable in doing so. Also i agree need more practice to perform drift like a pro ... will definitely catch up soon .

Since, the time you have posted in here i was eager to try my hand on drifting... My car was sitting in my rc workshop for more than 6 months...

Finally, today i tried drifting again and what better place to do dan my office roof....Only prob was a nut protruding from the ground which often hit the chassis..

Do advice me on drifting and if you notice deres a delay before the car moves even when i hav pushed the throttle..
cant figure out why?

Nitro engines do take a little time to rev up and that would seem to you like a slow response from you car.


Onto drifting,one easy way to drift is with drift tires.YOu can just put some tape on your tires and make it drift.The technique I use to put my slash into a slide is I come into a corner fast and hit the brakes early and steer at the same time.It goes into a slide.This should work on your car too.Once you are in a slide,steer into the turn.Its called as counter steer by some guys.

I have a few doubts about your engine man.It does not sound very 'healthy'.

Those are built in drift tyre in RS4 3 from HPI... I just got to practise more after seeing all these videos here and also, a good turf is needed...

As far as the engine is concerned the O.S .18 engine is holding the idle very well... I will have to tune it once more....

Take a look at this, and you'll notice some things:



Notice the pitch of the engine? You must stay "on the pipe" to drift a nitro. You also need a lot of room to drift nitro, too. It's why most drifters use electric. Electric can be used in all sorts of areas, be they big or small.

Balance of the chassis is also very important with nitro drift, as it is with electric. 50/50 front/rear balance is a good place to start. If your chassis favors one end to the other, weight wise, try to get it so it balances out equally.

Other than that, it's all about practice!!

BTW, your last vid......That is the way!! Start with a circle, attempt drift in both directions, to get used to each way, then combine in figure eight, and you'll be on your way!

BTW, I just thought of this, but by comparing the two nitro vids, I noticed the drifter in the garage vid is geared lower. You might try that, and it will definitely get you closer to being able to drift in tighter spaces. You will have slightly slower wheel speed, and if you check chassis balance, and correct for any overt bias, I think it will help immensely!

If you try my suggestion, Please let me know how it goes, because I can then add it to my tip book, for others to benefit from.

I went to the forum, can't log in. I guess I registered with A Main (though I can't for the life of me figure out how - I haven't ever been there before).

I have been re-setting my RC collection, meaning I have gotten a few more chassis since the last time I was here, and I am also back to racing, so I have not had much time for any other forums.

I have gotten into RCGT, and if anyone is curious, I can post rules for such races, as they are VERY popular in the states, now.  I like it because one need not have a high-dollar chassis to race. One can use something as simple as a Tamiya TT01, or any "tired" race chassis. Since the rules call for 17.5T Brushless motors, racing is evened up, and while 17.5T doesn't sound very fast, rubbing fenders at those speeds is still very exciting! It's not drift, but a good, relaxing substitute!

So, if any are interested, come to RCU - You too, Mike, and say hello, and see what there is, at RCU. Lots of good info, and the possibility of making new friends! I have a few there, already, and all are welcome.
