My steering assembly got damaged. I opened it and when looked inside, all gear threads are damaged. They all are plastic.
I would like to use Metal gear servo which we use in planes .

Any suggestions how can I use metal gear servo? Will it work with this cars inbuilt receiver?
If not will below work ?

I still feel its not that durable and will break again. Please suggest me best possible and durable option to make steering assembly functional again.
Though this car is basic (surely above toy grade) I would like to update its parts slowly and make it stronger.
Thanks
Any help here?
The servo will have three wires -ve, +ve and signal. The steering in this car has 5 wires (not sure if it is a servo or some kind of motor). How will you connect? (unless you know where do the new connections go on the rx).
Yes you are right. This car doesn't have servo. It has motor with three gear wheel inside. They all are stripped :banghead:. That is why I want to have good alternative mode in terms of servo so that I can get nice metal gear servo having enough torque.
Current motor is exactly like this

I am not sure if servo can be attached instead of motor, what mods will be required and how servo arm will be compatible with inbuilt receiver for Right-Left steer modes. Can I do this ????
It is highly recommended that you stick to the OEM parts for your car. If you want to venture out into serious hobby grade upgrades, consider something like:

please post pics of assembly.
is the steering 5 wired or 2 wired ?

in this pic which wires go steering section ?
Hi Tanmay,
Please see link I posted for alliexpress. Those aliexpress images are vary clear and precise. Motor is exactly same. Seems like 5 wires. Two goes in one side and 3 goes at the other end.
Do you want me to post actual opened assembly photos?
Does it have proportional control on steering?
if yes..then the 3 extra wires poking out of it must be connected to a potentiometer..
and den...using those position values from the potentiometer the controller controls the motor like a servo motor..

Yes. It does have proportional steering. So will i be able to use normal servo?
yes..u can do it..but u wll need an analog servo nd u wll have to modify a little bit..
Can i go for new esc, servo and rx-tx setup? Please suggest me compatible esc and servo.
I am looking to buy fs gt3b rxtx . i have removed all electronix from car except motor.
Hi..any pointers?
Yup its a good txrx set up go for it. Also it seems you like working on ur truck thats a good thing. But i suggest you to upgrade to 1/10 or 1/8 scale hobby grades in the future. As the parts for these are easily availabe and you can upgrade these truck to any level and will be very durable aswell.....
