OK So my 1.5 year Kid enjoys riding her Electric Car (With remote). The car is a general toy one, pretty slow with very low range.

I am a RC buff and have a decent collection of RC Gear but not much tech knowledge.. I am planning to put the RC gears into the Car for Forward/backward and right /left controls.

Here is my intial plan ,

1. Battery upgrade to 12 V
2. Replace the remote control system with 2.4 G RC TX RX 6 channel
3. put a FPV Camera in front for making headless in the building play area around obstacles .

The problem I am having is,

1. the motor in the car is a 6V Brushed motor and cannot be controlled using RC ESC. The RC motors cannot hold that much weight i guess, So is there a way to speed control the Brushed (2 wire) motor with ESC ?

2.  what would be the best way to control the steering ? The current mechanism is a complex circuit I am having hard time understanding and not sure if a RC Survo can do the job.

Please suggest any parts / equipments you think will help. NO worries with budget.
For any helps, thanks a lot :)

There are brushed ESC's available.

RC servo can do the job .. but u need a decent size servo

Suggestion.
Normally just changing the motor may not solve the problem.... the existing gear mech need to be seen, if it can take high speeds.

will you make your child sit on car while you control it remotely.... Bad Idea!!! dont do that .... let it be same. do this later when your kid id 4-5 years old.

pic of existing can help you get more advice.
