Title: Kyosho MFR
Post by: F22A on May 14, 2011, 01:25:53 PM
  I got my very own Kyosho MFR last year . It is an awesome truck from what I have experienced with it . It comes with electric start and is a ready set . The reason I went for it was that the revos and savages were absurdly priced at  around 45 k when I was deciding what to buy . Overall it is a fast monster truck but I dont think it will beat a revo . Also any tuning suggestions will be welcome :) as I am not a tuning pro . I am running it on 20 % Byron fuel . Recently I imported led strips and an led controller from hong kong. I have attached some pics of my MT .. Do enjoy !!! :D

Btw , there is one pic with the old horrible looking leds.. please dont mind .. lol

Nice truck man! :D
From the looks of the body in the 1st pic, have you been running in water?

And welcome to RCIndia :)

@iamahuman : Thanks dude .. glad u like it :)

@divyam : Thanks again . Well I wasnt really running it in water, there was a puddle with a bit of water and I actually ran the truck over it , so the water splashed over the truck :P

@arpit : yeah , kartik here ... Thnx dude... did you have a post about selling a savage flux hp u didn't want ? And I am look forward to seeing ur yet to arrive savage !! As for the Byron fuel , In Delhi you only get Tornado from Manish I think . There is a person called Mr. Moiz from bombayrc.com ( website not functional now ) .. He stocks all sorts of Byron fuel . If you want I can give you his number .

@azhaguvel : lol .. I think I washed it myself ;) hehe ... anyways , glad u liked it

Btw Im putting up two more pics :)

Welcome to RCI Kartik :)

Nice MT. This is the Giga-Crusher right? How old is this one? Do you have any other rc's?
What is that thing on the front of the body above the grille?
Videos would be nice :)

@rajathv8 : Its not the Gigacrusher dude. It's the MFR :) U can google it or check it out in Kyosho's website. It has hardly been a year since I got it and wasn't run much due to my Board exams. That "thing" was my old self made led set.. lol .. I got rid of it though .. I hope to post vids soon :)

Welcome to RCindia :)

Nice MT there. Is the fuel you use better than the Tornado ?

Thnx dude ... Btw your revo is very cool too . A friend of mine bought the same colour two weeks back and it is so fast !!! cheers ... As for the fuel , I have never used Tornado fuel , but I heard it is good :) My friend uses Tornado and he has no problems . If you want you can try Byron and see for yourself which one suits you . Personally I like Byron and it has won best nitro fuel awards in the past :) Hope this helps (btw , you will need to tune your engine again if you change fuel )

Neat truck! In the fourth pic, whats all that sticking out the truck? I can see an LED strip on the hood.. Is that temporary or have you mounted it there?

With all the flips I do, anything on the body will last me just 5 minutes ;D

Supposed to the best in car fuels. But availability is the issue. Since Moiz is dormant, not sure.

@ Taseem : Thnx for liking it :) As for the strip , yes it was a temporary led strip . I had used tits n bits from here and there and set it up myself . But now I have got led strips that come with an adhesive side ( I hate the idea of drilling holes into the body) and a remote control for the lights :) I have attached some pics to show you

@mailforajo and shashank : Yes , Byron is pretty good . And about the dormant part . It seems like Moiz is not very active but he will surely ship it if you give him a call . I just got in touch with him a few days back and the Byrons are in stock :) So if you are planning to switch to Byron , go for it :)

Hey thanks for the pics! I loved the remote system!

Is it safe to stick the lights on the outside? I can see the soldered contacts as well. I mean, don't you crash??  :bow:

You should see the front crash guard on my truck. Its all scratched up with the crazy stoppies. Its a similar story with the rear guards as well  >:D

You just reminded of my crash on sunday :P We were running a thundertiger truggy , my mt , and a revo along with two nitro helis in a field .. Sunndenly my radio lost control . It was because I had fit in a failsafe and forgot to switch it on , so it messed up the signals . My truck hit a wall at around 60 km /hr .. Front chasis plates and braces bent . But no damage to bumpers , not even a scratch :P I just bought the chasis plates . thats all . And soldering on two points is pretty easy I guess and they do not come out in crashes :)

The lights are pretty cheap tough but good in quality . For 5 $ , you get 60 leds !!!!! and the remote system is around 14 $

@F22A: Thanks for the info :) well i dont mind re-tuning my truck IF the fuel is so good and long term availability is not a headache. Read some info on the MFR and i must say its a ver good truck at that price point. We would all like some videos  :) Even i had plans of fixing LED's on my truck but after one day at the track i realized it wont last me long  ;D
