Hey
I live in blr too and I'm too 14 years old...
Building my first kit too...
The standard motor size for a 1/10 scale car is a 540 sized motor... 1/18 scale cars use a 370 sized motor...
You may find a 540 sized motor in Modelart but definitely not a 370 sized motor...
Sorry I can't help on the steering...

i have "limited" info but will be glad to help u mates with it...

By the way, where are you planning to run a brushless car? Because you need lotsa space to really open it up...

hey guys, good to see youngsters here.I just needed someone of my age in a hobby which looks "childish",but is very complicated and being among the big guys,it feels good to have someone who is my age.I am not sure of what scale my car is.It is really old.I am using it just to avoid all the building stuff.I will try to make it work better but my last resort would be to buy another small rc car and them modify it.Again there will me a limitation to the space.

If I remember right, pitstop only has an offroad track... Not too sure about it...
So make sure its an off road buggy/truggy/MT...

then I have a problem
I will be making an on road car

an aircraft motor will be low on torque. I am not well versed with the air craft standards, but u need good torque to keep the temps under control. post some pics of ur chassis. it will be easier to suggest that way.

The rear wheel and the body are not in the picture.
The gear attached to the motor will spin the wheel which has the other one.
so in all 2 connections will be made

some more
the place at the back is for the motor.
I might have to cut the plastic in front to make room for the inrunner MiniAC 1215/12 from model motors.
Is this a good motor.
ankurakul is ready to give me this motor.and if there are any other conflicts with sizes, please let me know.I guess that your trained eyes will help a lot.

I really doubt a plastic spur is gonna last with brushless...
Is it 2WD?

lol... ya .. it is a 2WD.  there is no differential at the back. i think u should stick to brushed motors,  there is a lot of wrk to be done  here.

so like if I replace the plastic spur gears with metal ones, will that work?

i am guessing it should last without a differential.
already argued about that with my dad.
Even he told me that I needed a differential.

Even he told me that I needed a differential.

When a car takes a turn...the inner wheels travel less distance than the outer wheels. Thus it is required that the inner wheels rotate with lower speed than the outer wheels. This is achieved by a differential. It is absolutely not necessary to have them. In the absence of a differential...when you turn your car...the inner wheels will skid on the surface. The wheels and gear drive will wear out sooner...that's the drawback of not having it...but you can still make a car without a differential.(finally my mechanical engineering put to some use :) )

And yes you can change the gear to a metal one. You say that you want to learn through this building experience. So go ahead and do what ever you think can be done. There should be no one stopping you. Build and learn and then share your experience with us.

iamahuman

OK that answers one more of my questions.
Thank god someone tells me it is fine not ot use a differential my cousin(who studies mechanical engineering)and my dad who has studied it tell me it is totally needed.
So,with the motor you have, will my car work well?

hey there,

Glad to see you taking interest in a rebuild. The best way to learn! Is that a digitally propotional system? i think its a 2 ch 27mhz rx used in toy rc.

iamahuman

well,I just left it.I am going in for an rc airplane.

hahaha. it is difficult to fit the servo and get proper linkages and stuff to make it work.

have an eye on any model?

iamahuman

Yeah. Was thinking of a traxxas 1/16E Revo but will go on to a multiplex easy star aircraft.Just thought there would be no fun wit hthe e revo as I would not have had a part in making it.As I am 14,and intersted in physics,I wnat to get a kit,but later.I love aircraft more than cars so I will buy an aircraft.
