Gandhar your truck is new. I dont thing you need to lube it. I used a little oil and it was a mess to clean! Dont think il use any oil. All the moving parts have sealed ball bearings so it doesnt need any lube.

I use thick oil on the spur and every bit of oil was out in a sec because of high RPM - no use there.

How long should i charge a 2400mah Nimh battery. I searced a lot but am still uncertain. Since it is 2400mah and charger output is 350mah i recon 2400/350 ~= 7 hours.

It says more than 8 hours.

These are 'c' cells right?

Even bearings need to be lubed.More often than we would think. Get some bearing oil and do it.

You should avoid using any sort of oil on the spur or pinion.If you have to lube them,use some lithium grease.There was some sort of grease on my slash's spur when it came from the factory.

For the NiMH battery,after 7 hours(from a discharged state(you can tell its discharged enough when it just doesn't have anymore power)),just touch the battery.It should get warm(NOT hot).Fully charged,my battery reaches around 10.02V.

That's from driving it so much on-road.. I suggest you get a different set of tires for driving on-road..

Try a hardware store.But WD-40 leaves a residue.And don't use it on bearings.Its also more of a water dispersal agent rather than a lubricating agent.Get some dedicated lubricant and WD-40.

WD40 is available at pretty much every store in SP Road. There is also a store there which sells every kind of power connector available. You will also get cables and shrink wraps. I'm saying this since I read earlier that you're planning to upgrade your connectors. Make a list of all the stuff you will need and give them a visit. If you go to the end of the road you will find some stores that deal in grease and lubes as well. Or you can walk over to JC Road for that.

Will do. Thanks Taseem. Oils are avilable nesr here so not a problem. You think they will have 4mm bullets?? Movd the plan of changing connector down a few months. Now that i have two 2400mah Nimh i may as well use it for a while.

About the shock oil : I tried few oils today -

0 is score with nothing in shock and 10 is with the stock shock oil (dont know which one was in there)

He said 90 oil is what is used commonly in gearboxes. I got these from an auto-rick repair shop. Told him it was for a college project

They've got all connectors you can imagine and some you've never seen before! lol.. Its a small shop run by a lady. At least it was a lady when I went there a month or two ago.

What oils are these? I mean what is their intended purpose?

These are lube oils for auto-ricks.

I paid Rs.5 for about 50ml. I needed an alternative because i know TT shocks are not great.

Will try few more samples  tomorow. Didnt get time today.

Took it out for a spin at 10.30pm. Had an awesome time!

Mom actually suggested putting lights on it and dad stayed out till i got back myself - bet they dont think its a toy anymore

Its  too tempting to drive on road. Didnt accelerate suddenly or turn too fast to save the tyres.

Nope tyres have about 50-60% tread but i FEEL it has reduced after running it twice yday.

Get an electric and even you can have fun anytime - hope that neighbour does not have an issue with it!
