Post by: gbisht on November 03, 2011, 11:28:39 AM
Hi

I have got my new Turnigy 1/16 Brushless 4WD Monster Beatle w/ 25Amp System
It is good in that Price, speed is awsome, may be because this is my first 4WD and Brushless Truk.

It Cost me 110$ including few spares and 50$ For HK-300 3Ch Transmitter with 2 Rx.
I think is is good deal for starting in RC CAR....

Car is really fast, I drive it in Grass and it dont stops anywhere

I was planning to get the buggy one for my son to play with. How is the plastic quality? Is everything put together well? At $50, it looks ok.

What spares did you order? The Buggy is $68. Need to get the Lipos and radio. This is a copy of the Associated RC18. Nice to know it works well. Would love to see your detailed review.

Hi mail4ajo,

I am just Bigner in this hobby, so I bought it, Yes it is 68$, You can find following I have ordered and Associated RC18 must be costly, I cant say so much but I have read in its blog in hobbyking.com that your must required Servo and ESC but i ordered Servo and my bad luck I ordered that server with wrong dimension, and as blogs says after half hr run , its servo stuck in one direction...

Check out my order....only propellers are extra which not relate with this car.
1x #110BS-Truck/13449 1/16 Brushless 4WD Monster Beatle w/ 25Amp System = $67.76

So in Total I have spend 108.01 + 55.04 + 15.18 = 178.23
in which following items are not relevent with this car, which cost me 14.83

So this Car Cost me 163.21$ with

Tx/Rx set with one spare Rx
and Lot of spares,
and I am using its stock servo for Head Light On/Off with help of 3rd channel (AUX) of Transmitter

1x #HK939MG/14458 HobbyKing 939MG Metal Gear Servo 2.5kg/ 12.5g/ 0.14sec = $4.37
1x #HK-D922MG/14279 HobbyKing HK-922MG Digital Metal Gear Servo 1.8kg/ 12g/ 0.07sec (SWARM47496131) = $9.02
1x #HCB-03/11326 3x2 Propellers (Standard and Counter Rotating) (6pc)(SWARM46618378) = $1.43

Yes, RC18. They are twins, buggy and truggy. Now its coming in RTR also. I am not sure if the parts fit. Check and buy. Caster racing also makes the clones.

I think Turnigy is better then Associated RC18,
1. It is Brushed
2. Comes with NiHM Battry
3. Less in Length
4. Cost around 165$ + Shipping (Checked in Blog)
5. Spare is costly in campare of Trunigy 1/18
6. 30Km/h and 40Km/h Difference

I dont think Turnigy 1/18 is copy of Associated RC18, all parts are different, and I dont think any of them are interchangable.
We can say copy if we can use parts interchangable, i.e HK-450 and Align 450 mostly parts are interchangabal.
and in the sense of outside structure, I think you can get any model in different brand, i.e all Buggy are almost similer in all brands.

I think Turnigy is better then Associated RC18,

I assume you are a begginer in cars. Associated literally started RC car and racing about 47 years ago. Nothing more needs to be said about Associated and its quality.

Yes, Turnigy is way cheaper and is VFM for that price. They have just copied the RC18 concept and made it bigger just like the others. Maybe using different parts. But heard that Caster racing cars can accept RC18 parts

I Dont want to compare any thing but who care who came first...or last...but the question is where we will getting better deal......

I suggest every one to give change new commer and buy this car....This is good and spares are cheap........cheap doesnt mean bad quality  :hatsoff:

Anything can break, be it an AE or a turnigy, what matters is that how much value for money is your car, if you pay only a quarter of a AE car and get something which is even half as durable compared to original, i would definitely go for it, i can buy heck a lot of spares in that another quarter amount and would still be saving half the money.

Now this truk (1/16 Brushless 4WD Monster Beatle w/ 25Amp System) can be more durable
as Hobbyking added its spare parts in Glass Fiber and Aluminum

So if I hit it I can upgrade its part from Plastic to Aluminum at cheap cost....

but I have run it lot but Hit 2 time and break only 2 parts (very less cost) (Front Lower Suspension Arm & Rear Hub Carrier )

and I have huge inventory of its spare so I am ready to run this anywhere... ;)

I must say, this car is Best Car in this Price Segment (in turm of Performance and Durability).. {:)} {:)} {:)}  ....

Hobbyking/Turnigy  :salute:

Im sorry but theres no comparing hsp and associated .. only few will get what im saying . Hsp is pure VFM. Good for beginners .. for example i havent broken a single part in my losi in a year . Though i have spares enuff for a shop . Dats where losi, asociated, etc are . Pays off in starting early.
