Savage flux 2350 is a little expensive but electrics is free of cost to run.

On the other hand savage x is cheaper, yet runs on nitro which is expensive like hell.

I need my son to get any one of these, which one should i buy

You need to decide if you want electric or nitro. If you will also be running the car then you can consider the nitro version.

The savage flux needs good batteries and a charger which costs the same as running a Savage X nitro excessively for over a year.

If it is only for your son go electric as it makes a lot more sense

Electrics are not free to run. You will be spending a good amount on a decent Lipo and charger. Its all upfront investment. And is electricity free?? There is a cost attached although its lesser on the longer run, right?? Forget running on NiMh, you rather dont run.

For children, I would suggest an electric for the ease of use factor. Also electrics are faster, have less maintainence and ecofriendly (if that means anything).

Offtopic, I dont see the point of having the Tmaxx pic on this thread.

Electric is still a lot cheaper ajo...atleast than a fuel worth 500 a litre that gives runs of 1 hour only......!!!!

Like Ajo said you have to pay for the batteries and chargers upfront. If you want additional run time you will need a 2nd set of batteries.

in the end nothing is really free. If you use lipos there is a good chance of them bloating or getting damaged which is an additonal expense.

With nitro you are not restricted to running only 10-20 mins. On a savage 4.6 1 litre gives you approx 2 hours of runtime. So do the math and decide what is going to be cheaper depending on how much you plan to use the car.

Everyone thinks electrics are just plug and play. But Lipos change the scene. You can have great fun and great pain too. If you are not careful, Lipos can mean damage. They have to be cared for like a baby compared to NimH for it to last and be out of danger.

Most Lipos are not cheap and damaging them means lot of heartburn. Thats why I use cheaper Lipos from Turnigy(hobbyking) that works well. When they die, they die.
