I have a max budget of :Rs:32,000 this time.
I shortlisted Tmaxx, S50, GST 7.7
>:DI want extreme power, extreme size >:D, strong design, easy spare.
I intend this truck only for Bashing.
Kindly suggest which one is best/or any other one.
I liked GST due to its largest size and 5 horsepowr engine which is the most powerful, but i didnt liked the less market for CEN in india
i like s50 due to its massive popularity in india and easy spares., but its only 2.6 horse power acc. to the ttr website which turned off my mood.
i like t-maxx due to its brand and the quality associated with name of the brand, but disliked its small size
is savage x 4.6 larger than T-maxx 3.3?
if you want a truck for bashing then just go for savage 4.6. and if u want power then go for s50.
i think savage 4.6 costs more than my budget.
FYI: The savage X 4.6 will outdo the S50 in almost every department.
It is more durable, quicker, better basher, better racer and overall a much better package.
And the best part is that it falls well within your budget with the 2.4 radio and roto included.
U can also get a different clutch/spur combo for racing within 32k. Check with Rahul from RC Racing Hobbies. He is the closest HPI dealer.

Well not sure how reliabe the CEN and its support.
S50 may have only 2.6hp but with a 75% increase in engine capacity over a Savage 4.6 it will have higher amount of torque.
The just launched S50 V2 comes with a new body and the 17mm wheel hubs and bead lock wheels.
But the Savage is still the most popular truck and for good reason.

Whats the least price for a savage 4.6 with AM radio.
BTW i am thinking for a T-maxx
Speak with Rahul from RC Racing Hobbies. He should be able to give you pricing.
Im pretty sure you will not consider anything else after you speak to him. It is only available in the latest 2.4ghz series.
If you are considering a smaller engine size look at the TMaxx 3.3. Great car out of the box and it has quite a lot of accessories and falls well within your budget.
@Hellfire: You are right about CEN when it comes to reliabilty and Support. We have a few clients looking for CEN spares. Do let me know if you have any leads.
This tilted me towards T-maxx.

Mann...this car looks 10 times better than any othercar in the world....I am loving it.

I really dont need useless posts on my topics.
Please
For all other let me clear up for this non sense post- I have been all electric guy, and do not have much practical experiences with engines other than HPI.
Thats why i created this post to get some help from the guys who have raced these trucks.
Thanks
Arpit

OK let me start of by saying that i have no experience in Nitro cars..
With that said, what about the Revo 3.3?
Little out of your budget, but its supposed to be REALLY good..
You can ask Ajo, as he has this truck..

I haved PMed him to have a look on this, waiting for him.
BTW i have decided to bash this truck only a little, but still no racing and hence revo is out and t-maxx is in.
Since tmaxx and revo share everything in common except shocks, which are more modified for racing in revo.
Wanted a savage but savage also requires some other acc. which wont cost anything less than 3k.
The T-Maxx is an ultimate basher and has lot power and durability.
It also comes with lot of accessories and is a true RTR.
Spares - are easily available which is much needed for a basher.
Cheers
What i think is that T-maxx is a racing cum basher thus its not as tough as a savage which is the ultimate Bash king
@ Arpit - The only common thing between the Tamxx and revo is the TRX 3.3 engine. otherwise almost all other components are different.
Tmaxx and savage both are bashers which can race also. But when you factor in a revo into the picture it will blow the doors off both the maxx/savage when it comes to racing.
But savage build is incomparable to a t-maxx build quality right..?
@ Arpit: Since you have owned a savage flux and a savage XL im pretty sure you dont need us to answer that question.
I'v never seen a 4.6 running, and have heard a lot pros and cons about it, then saw a couple of other big trucks like CEN GST and got confused, and called for help from you guys
Can i find a used baja in that budget...?

Lol....
I know what a savage is...missile
But i din had that budget so wanted to buy something cheaper
Thats why i didnt had the savage in the Title as well....
Go for the T-Maxx.
Should have good support.
I am really sad , it breaks a lot, every t-maxx owner told me this only. It needs a upgrade of atleast 5k
Be a little careful dude.Get some RPM parts and your problem will be solved.
@arpit: whoever told you that the T-Maxx breaks easily, haven't used other cars. It is one of the most durable monster trucks.
When somebody tells T-Maxx breaks easily, The first thing to ask is with respect to what?
ask them to compare/check against other cars.
Cheers
I also had a T-Maxx owner tell me that his was very strong and durable and so were the other T-Maxxes he had seen.

I asked a 3 guys from chandigarh, who are tired of buying spares for it, and its not that they hate trx, they love revo's but told that t-maxx is only weak car with low density suspnsion arms and bulkhead. Revo is a lot better.
If that is the problem, get the RPM arms or go to aluminium.
How hard were they on the truck?Every car has its limits.
Then it will be fine but then why not buy a truck thats enough durable and a bigger and powerful engine for same price....SAVAGE!!
But i amm still curious about CEN GST 7.7
This is why i am curious
GST 7.7 and REVO
Savage and GST
I don't see lots of parts support for CEN here.
If the savage comes in at exactly the same price,go a little overboard and get it.Or else,go with the T-Maxx.
thats what i am thinking
you should go for the savage only its the best nothing beats it!!!!
Well if you want size then you may consider the losi XXL or savage XL.I believe losi handles better but has no support in india.

We have GST 7.7 for size as well...its biggest...bigger than a LST XXL.
@Arpit: Buying a inferior product just for its size is a very amateur thing to do specially for someone who has "advanced" rc skills like you. Most 1st time buys buy quantity over quality.
Since you have a Baja 5t that should satisfy your big car needs.
Just pick between a tmaxx or savage x and call it a day.

i have it no more. sold to a guy in odisha.
btw savage is final, almost 99%.
And ya, its my first big buy, i'v personally never choosen th stuff myself, it was always elders decision, now finally i'v go the chance to do it so i am a little anxious for everything lol....
yes you all guys are saying right .There is a lot confusion between tmaxx and sledgehammer I am also in this situation. Please help me in choosing the right truck. But I think traxxas provides us better quality as they say.
You are posting on topic which is 4 years old... I have used sludge hammer if you want..
Starting a new topic regarding ur doubts is good idea. Any way good value for money and lods of power truck will be a TT SledghammerS50. Won't suggest a tmaxx as it's costly and parts availability is an issue and high maintenance cost. But then if u want to spent that kind of money better get a petrol engine truck.
