Apparently my notoriety has spread far and wide, that someone stopped by with this today :giggle:  He needed help with setting it up, specifically engine tuning.

This is someone who has never really done any RC stuff before, and paid a little more than what it is worth for this car from someone.  It looks very clean though.

I was not even aware of this brand !

The first thing I noticed that the receiver antenna was connected to the board with just one strand of wire.  Had no option but to remove it, and solder it back properly.  Range test looks good.

After the glow ignitor is done charging, will move on to testing this.  I only have 16% airplane fuel with me, so will use that.  I plan to be gentle in my testing, as a precaution.  Also, it is not clear if the engine was properly broken in or not ! The idle stop screw is pointing downwards and very close to the muffler, if I have to touch that, it will not be easy !

Many cars including the TT S2 buggy has the idle screw placed in such a way that you cannot touch it. Try using a small blade. Bad designing.

You will find it hard to source spares for this unless you have a local dealer. Looks like a GS racing clone.

Basic settings done.  Realized that the brakes have worn off.  Someone at the field was suggesting that I cut out a piece of gasket material and use that.  Comments ?

This is really the first time I looked deeper into car mechanics.  Engine tuning was not a big deal, even though this was an odd brand.

Gasket material wont last even 3 runs. Even i was suggested for that on an ST-1 and it barely lasted for 3-4 runs.
Invest in original brakes to enjoy th buggy.
Also the casting it into the brake pad shape wont be really easy i guess..correct me if wrong
I'll be back.

He was saying that if you take the right material and stick two pieces together with epoxy, it makes a pretty good replacement.  Wonder if all the car guys just get the same brand part itself all the time ?

i tried super glue and araldite, both failed.
Depends on what kind of epoxy u use.
Anyways give it a try once, maybe it might work for you
good luck
I'll be back.
