Title: The new Savage Flux XS
Post by: iamahuman on March 20, 2011, 08:54:55 AM
HPI have gone the traxxas way and have introduced a smaller version of their savage flux series. This is a prototype so no complete info but some info says its got a flux system(rebranded castle 5700kv mamba),2.4Ghz......HPI wants to fit it into the 300$ range. Its gonna be a real good car seeing what its older brothers have done. ;D

Even before they released the 2350 version just to be more price competitive

I think there were 2 more Savages in the launch line..
So was a Pulse Flux and a Trophy truggy Flux!

Cool.Ones the new savage X  but didn't know about the pulse flux and trophy flux. The pulse flux would be similar to a vorza(I think so).I doubt a MMP would do well on the pulse(5700 kv is too much for it).A MMM would be better. But it will be like the vorza then.

The mini savage should be fun though.

Well, after some reading,I agree with a guy who said they'll have a 2350 system in it.That outs it right behind the vorza and is enough to push the trophy and the pulse.

Any idea if HPI India people are getting the savage xs? It seems to be out on the international market.

It has a few problems in its first run. People have reported their pinions coming off, stripped motor screws and some other small stuff. Its understandable since this is its first production run. People have been having trouble with overheating their systems in the XS flux. The motor and ESC have poor ventilation.

Once these issues are sorted out, it'll make for a good buy. I think the HPI India guys will wait and see how it goes before releasing it here.

Hi All,

HPI India is going through a complete revamp. You should see big changes coming very very soon. The plan is to launch most of the models in India by November at a much lower price point, complete spares support and a rewarding buying experience. You will see more details on this as we get closer to the go live date.

Models which will be stocked for the India Market

HPI Savage X 4.6 (2011 Spec)
HPI Savage XL 5.9
HPI Savage Flux HP
HPI Savage Flux XS
HPI Vorza
HPI Bullet MT/ST
HPI Bullet MT/ST FLux
HPI Trophy Truggy 4.6
HPI Truggy/Buggy FLUX
HPI Sprint 2 Flux/ Drift
HPI Pulse 4.6
HPI RS 32

Hot Bodies TC_FD
Hot Bodies D8
Hot Bodies D8 -T
Hot Bodies Ve8

Also considering launching the Trophy 3.5 incase it can retail for less than 20k.

Just to give you an idea of the launch price if everything goes as planned. Savage x should be 31k, sprint flux about 18k, XS hopefully below 20k

OMG :o

Awesome!!! The TC- FD should be SICK!!! Getting its TC brother as well? (The TC- FD can be converted into a TC but that beats the point, doesn't it?)

PS: How much will the Trophy or Pulse Flux cost?

Fingers crossed. TC_FD can be used as a touring and drift with modifications so it makes more sense to get that than the TC-X. Hold on for a while and all the prices will be revealed. We will have some smashing offers during launch so save up for november end.

Our on road track will also be opened along with this launch so we should see a major spike in sales.

Some nice pricing there, Sidd. Very interesting. Finally started getting closer to US prices. Volumes speak. Look forward to the onroad track as well.

Ajo: lets hope that people dont consider ordering from International websites once this initiative is launched.

The best part about the onroad track is its on our terrace, right in the center of Mumbai. Size is about 80" x 40" plus a smaller drift track.

just went through ultimaterc's XS disassembly video.

looks like a LOT of work to just get to the motor.

on a maxx or a summit, u need to change a pinion its a 5 min job.

but on the XS looks like its gonna take a lot of time. but i guess TVP's have their own advantages.

Yup. I believe all MT's are built like that. Very hard to maintain but pretty durable.

Saw that last night as well.
Still, I've read that this car is not as durable as the full sized flux. Plus problems with the electronics. Ofcourse these nay only be the problems of the 1st batch.

Many people have blown ESC's. The JANG himself broke a stub axle. Keep an eye out for a review on its way...

Yup i have been following the posts about the XS on URC. Everyone has issues with the ESC, heating issues wth the motor due to lack of ventilation and out-drives wear. Too much power in this RC. But look super cool :D Hope all the issues get resolved in the next batch.

An Update on the XS: Just got done testing the updated version where the esc issue has been sorted out. The new batch is in production and should be available in the next 2 weeks or so. used 3s packs extensively with no issues. All i can tell you is that this thing is a monster. I also think it handles a little better than the 1.8scale HP.

And how did the outdrives hold up? I've been hearing quite a lot about them being weak.

They seem fine for now..little or no wear. They have already released a list of optional upgrades.
