In this topic, I will be sharing a lot of tips related to RC Cars.

Starting with this RC Car Body Clips:

Safety pins make excellent body clips too.

They are cheap and are easily available.Toss a few of them in your pit box, just in case.

They'll keep you rolling and they won't come off in a crash because the ends are closed up.

Nice one :)
It it ok others post their tips too on this thread?

Of course... I am fine if others also post tips here in this thread.

The idea is to spread the knowledge each of us have about the RC and others can benefit from these tips.

However I would prefer to have tips mostly related to Cars or generic tips which can be used for any RC.

And also make sure that the tips is not repeated and is a useful tip.

My next tip is a generic one and you could use it as an example to understand what could be a generic tip.

Let me know otherwise.

Tip #2: Reading A Glow Plug

By examining a used plug closely, you can determine how and why it failed. Here is a guide by the late, great Ron Paris:

1) Wire and surrounding bottom of plug wet, with like new shiny wire = rich side of optimum power, 85%

2) Wire and surrounding bottom of plug starting to dry and wire starting to gray = very close to optimum power, 95%

3) Wire and surrounding bottom of plug dry, wire totally gray but not distorted = optimum power, 100%

4) Wire and surrounding bottom of plug dry, wire distorted = slightly lean, DANGER!

5) Wire and surrounding bottom of plug dry, wire broken and distorted or burnt up = extremely lean, possible engine damage!

TIP OF THE DAY: SECURE YOUR 4-CELL RECEIVER BATTERY HOLDER

If you are one of those users who uses the 4-cell receiver battery-pack holders that often come with nitro kits, we know that battery pack holder work fine but AA batteries/cells can sometimes pop out of the holder during hard running.

If a battery/cell pops loose, it can cause a loss of signal.

To prevent this, wrap electrical tape around the battery pack.

The tape will hold the pack securely in place even during the hardest driving, but it will still be easy to remove.

TIP OF THE DAY: 27MHz AM TRANSMITTER FREQUENCY CLASH WITH OTHERS

If you have a 27MHz AM radio that's on the same channel as others out at the field are, simply swap your transmitter and receiver crystals.

In other words, place the Tx (transmitter) crystal in the receiver and the Rx (receiver) crystal in the transmitter.

This will prevent interference with others radio.

NOTE: Keep in mind that this tip only works on 27MHz AM crystals.

DO YOU KNOW? - COOLERS

The exhaust cooler or cooler, as its name suggests, makes the exhaust pressure cooler in order to prevent the fuel and fuel tank getting hot and losing its shape. The fuel is cooler and so allow better performance. Its biggest advantage is that the fuel consumption will drop.

The Exhaust Gas Cooler is mounted between the tuned pipe and the fuel tank and so it will take away some heat from the exhaust gas that goes into the fueltank, lowering the temperature of the fuel and increasing the runtime.
