flytrex has launched some 3g operated delivery drones.
It is very likely that this technology will find its way to commercial products if some way to avoid interference with existing bandwidth is found.
Why use the word Drone?
Use a word like multicopter or something.
It would be a real mess if some authority (police or dgca)hears it.
a 3g multicopter is no less than a drone i guess, as it wont be a hobby toy any longer. Such a drone with a waypoint mission planner can do anything and the operations can be remotely monitored by internet, they don't even need radio inputs.
i'm sorry my friend, but the above product is a drone, not a hobby grade toy. nevertheless, i'm sure it wont be allowed in india anytime soon.
the limitation is not with the link .
it is with the useful payload.
with current technology it is not feasible to deliver a meaningful load over a meaningful distance economically.
also the delivery vehicle will be worth many times more than the cargo .
Limitation is not the link !
Now It's
>payload
>flight time
for single way missions some copters can cover a whopping 25-30kms at 40-50kmph and 45mins of flight time
