Good observation, there, brought my Paratrooper Trg days back to life, lost a guy in my stick, back in 92

No. He went out to Russia for 6 months of training on these, as soon as he was commissioned (80th GDP). He was part of the first squadron of AN 12s, ("25" - as far as I remember) based at Chandigarh.
