"laser light is beamed through the fiber optic cable and converted into electricity at the aerial platform"  :hatsoff:....

Amazing if its possible than is it possibel it doing without an optical cable using direct laser beam ? if yes! a revolution of wireless power tranmission is at the door step!

Anyone would like to discuss this  :salute:...

It is just a design content entry... at this stage at least :)

:hatsoff: sir, its a seed...if all went well it may become a fruitful tree...., I am keen to hear my engineer freinds, that what are the technical challenges in this assumption?

Wow!
It can remain aloft and stationary indefinitely! COOL!

Just found a video of 'laser power beaming technology' being demonstrated (on a micro-helicopter). The video is presented by Tom Nugent, president of LaserMotive.

The only challenge i can think is the weight of the cable..............longer the cable -- more the thrust. more the thrust -- heavy the motor....
Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!
