I did not write how to post an RTI. I just said "If you do not hear from them till 2 months, then you can send send an RTI application seeking info about your parcel."

I just called Mumbai FPO, They update me , yesterday custom clear parcel of 7th Oct, For mine need to wait next 7-9 days for next update.

I called Mumbai Foreign Post Service who informed the product was sent to Bangalore Sub Foreign Post Office, i.e, on 4th November 2015. But all the three numbers keep on ringing for Bangalore Sub Foreign post office with no answers and one number is out of service.

But I am very worried by seeing the following news:

But don't they need to have CCTV CAMERA for such important PLACE where things are STOLEN/ROBBED so easily. Its a SHAME to the GOVERNMENT MANAGEMENT as it brings such a DISGRACE for the ENTIRE NATION for which FOREIGN COUNTRIES mentions...NOT SHIPPING TO INDIA....and when asked the International Market give such a Shameless reply of product being stolen or returned with nothing inside...

Its high time people should come forward to save the image of India at large.

Confusion and Drama starts:
Mumbai Custom says they have sent it by Air on 4th November. Bangalore Foreign says it is COMING BY TRAIN and have not reached yet...

Is it REGISTERED Airmail or Air Parcel or EMS?

@nairitb bro, I think It should be a air parcel or ems because it weighs about 11.2 kg and value 13,600rs as per DJ Nshyap post.

Oh. I didn't notice that. Airmail and Air Parcel are generally sent by TRAIN within India. EMS is sent by Air within and outside country.

But CATEGORY of all three is AIR. There are 3 categories : AIR, SURFACE, SEA

I think the next process of clearance will be start after 1 week because next week is Diwali week. All the officials who are responsible for clearance will be on holiday. I am also got under this tight situation. do you have any idea about this kind of situation Bro ?

It was full of fun lol....In the mean time a post man came and saw me tensed...he asked me to enquire with Mumbai custom whether it was sent by Air or by Train...I kept on dialling but no picked up at last i dialled a different number and one lady picked up and said...It was sent by AIR ON 4TH itself to bangalore....then...i again went to 1st floor and said the update...

**The lady again checked in IPSWEB.....and said the same thing..its not updated yet might be in transit..

**I said it reached Bangalore on 4th itself so the question of being in Transit should not arise...she guided me to go to the basement Godown and check..

**The aged man checked again on his Excel sheet my number was not there...Then LUCKILY he remembered of a Register Book where they entry manually..He checked and found it there....

**Then he asked me again what was there...i said it is a kind of case cover of alluminium finish..

@ DJ Nshyap, Don't worry man, it will update next week after Diwali. then you can contact bangalore customs. My package sent on 21st oct but it get updated only on 26th oct.

He said he had lot of other parcels to open up and he would do it serially..infact he was true..i could see lot of papers and there was hardly any place to stand because of luggages...I dint request him to do fine urgently as I dint want to interfere their work. He asked me to come next Tuesday with Invoice and he said if the parcel is cleared it would be automatically dispatch or if its detained by Custom officials...I might have to show additional documents and pay duty or fine....

All the while things were peaceful as the office is located around lot of greenery and employees work at so ease...Its totally different from a corporate where everyone keeps on running here and there all d time..
Things went well so far except one postman who asked me to check with Mumbai asked for some cash to have lunch...I was surprised for what he was askin money...lol...

.it has been retained. retain reason: call custom office or send an email

Send e-mail first, then call, if not resolved then contact them in person. It is as per nairitb's advice. I think you have to Wait for atleast 7-10 days in each step. If you show you are in hurry then they started to bargain on your parcel.

Oh k...i have sent an email to the customs as advised...and the post office told me to come with the invoice along with ID. To check the procedure to get it cleared asap...

These custom people are stating that for any individual purpose import the tax is FLAT 41.5% but for commercial use it may be from 11% till 150%
What da....

There is no such thing as 41.5% flat tax.
