So I am in class 10 my dream is to get into masachussets institute of technology in US...
Many of you must be knowing that to get into colleges in US you need extracurricular activity....
You might say that I have the best hobby in the world but extra curricular activity requires a official school group or a competition...
Everyone knows that schools in India above class 8 with extracurricular activity are rare as rare as finding a hobby shop in your state and even if I am able to make the school start a rc club they will first ask me to get 20 students so bad idea...
So the only way left is winning a rc competition, any rc competition regarding planes???  ???

Wonder if you saw, or tried to participate in this:
http://www.rcindia.org/kites-trains-free-flight-and-all-others/one-minute-flight/msg288481/#msg288481

Try it now.
Can you do a 30 sec hand launch flight?
With low tech, high tech, or what have you.
This is by far the cheapest route to try and set a world record...

Edit
You may know that one of the Aero Dept Profs is a famous aeromodelling hero...

Prof. Drela is a legend

You know Mehul, if you write a very polite letter (email) to him, explaining your interest, and mentioning your age, he may just suggest a Road Map to be followed to achieve your dream! Give it a shot

Mehul Anand

Oh thank you sir you seriously helped me.
Thank you sanjay sir and KK sir...

Mehul Anand

@sanjay sir I realise now that Prof drela is a legend...
But what should I mail him??

sanjayrai55

Tell him the truth! That you are 15 years old (or whatever age you are,) you are keen to study more on aviation, you would love to go to MIT and study under him, that you come from a small town in India and have limited resources like USIS US Enbassy etc. to learn more. Read up on him and his achievements https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Mark_Drela, https://www.edx.org/bio/mark-drela, etc. and demonstrate your interest. Be humble, but do ensure you show a high degree of motivation. You never know where this could lead, and you lose nothing by trying, just put in a whole-hearted effort

Mehul Anand

Yeah I just want to have knowledge about aviation, aeronautics etc...
Thank you again sir...
