Futuristic biplane design eliminates sonic boom, see rep #1

This operation is called the supercritcal intake shockwaves, if you notice the images in the article, pressure rise inside the intake is sudden, this rise is not due to the compressor, they are due to the pressure recovery due to formation of oblique shockwaves, earlier aeroplanes could not harness this waves and they shattered windows and glass panes (Rep #3), modern intake designs keeps this shockwave floating and max pressure recovery across the shock wave occurs. in fact in the hypersonic (Above mach 5.0)vehicles the shock pressure recovery is enough to completely negate the use of a jet engine.
