Hi, does anyone has an experience with Boosted boards?? I really love those boards, and I would like to own one.
But the company doesn't ship to India. Anyone in US , willing to help??

Thanks  :hatsoff:

You watch casey neistat's vlogs?
i have been a fan of boosted boards ever since i saw one on the internet, but  never  could   afford one.
Although i rode one during my visit to Los Angeles back in november laSt year(it was magical!).One ride on it makes you forget  the idea of ever owning a car :p
Cheaper boards can be found on chinese websites.
You can also try amazon.com,they have these boards for 1500USD.
if you are a little low on budget then  going for the yuneec E_GO2 will be a better option.
regards.

Hi.I'm not at all low on the budget side. Yeah..but I'm not the 'daddy atm' guy :P . I'm 16 and I'm an entrepreneur.
Yeah! I watch Casey's vlogs. But I knew those boards long before. In flitetest, Chad Kapper was seen riding one of those.I asked him about it and was interested since that day.

Good to hear. I myself want one but the price and the condition of roads in India makes me drop the idea.
The v2 of this board is extraordinary!
Better motors and waterproof, also comes with an app.
If u have the money, buy it! there's nothing like it.

I'm planning to upgrade this thing, with some suspensions and higher ground clearance. I don't think making one would cost this much. It's a good start-up idea. I thought of propelling it with an edf fan.Tell me your thoughts :)

edfs could work but you'll require many ,i guess.
pm me.;P

My thought exactly! I've worked on something similar before. I also have experience with stabilization algorithms and the hardware that would be required. Let me know if you'd like to pursue this idea.

No way, at least this month. A lot of projects are going on. So much projects, that I'm literally planning to drop-out of school.
I'll let you know, when I start working :)

Swapnil

Let me know too. I'd really like to be a part of this startup!

Sure Swapnil. Whoa... never thought of this in a start-up perspective. But I think it will be great. The problem is, nobody would be willing to buy those expensive things, they would rather stick to a bike or a car. Let's see if we can get some good funding. Anyway, nothing for the next 2 months.

What if we can manufacture them for about 10-15K INR?

Why don't we talk this personally? The viewers are getting real excited I guess  :giggle:

Raguram

It is possible to make this board in India.
Boosted board uses similar motors like this 190KV Brushless Outrunner https://hobbyking.com/en_us/kd-53-30-high-voltage-brushless-outrunner-190kv.html which is belt driven to the front wheels, The motor can be powered by a LiPo and driven by a high current ESC.

Raguram

Here is a small diagram for the setup,
Regenerative Braking can be accomplished by making some changes to the ESC to rectify the 3-Phase output from the motor during braking and downhill riding. The output can be diverted to a charge controller to charge the battery. Instead of a bluetooth controller we can also use foot activated switches for control

arorasoham9

That's a pretty good idea but many people have already homemade stuff like these.
It dosen't take much of an effort.
Most companies out there are focusing on the mileage on these things.
If we are able to make a product which can travel longer distances ,it will be a game changer.
What  do u guys say???

Whoa!!! Please wait.... I won't be able to look into the project for the next two months. I think mileage can be increased, provided we've better roads. Better suspension and ground clearance is the first issue I guess. But after fixing everything, it will be much expensive.
And about better mileage, I've contacted Dronish, and the HK; just for a quote for bulk batteries. I guess Dronish has not started selling yet.

ashimda

Although I love electric skateboards and would love to own one, realistically I doubt it would be practical in our country.
As mentioned, the state of our roads in most states will be an issue but have you guys thought about the main problem?
Most roads in India do not have sidewalks/ pavements. Pedestrians and motorists share the same road space. Now considering the nonexistent road sense of the majority of these people, It scares me. Travelling from Home to my office by bike, which is less than a 2km ride, I find myself dishing out choice expletives to morons who shouldn't be given a library card let alone a drivers license.
Now don't let my opinions discourage you guys, just putting forth a view from a different prospective.

Regards Ashim.

Swapnil

Well, if this comes to fruition (and that's a big if), the target consumers would be those who need a simple vehicle for travelling within large private areas (factories, educational institutions, tech firms, large colonies etc.) and/ or for recreational purposes.

Hopefully, when our road conditions improve, we might see electric boards on roads too someday.

Aravind298

It's true that road conditions are the worst in India. But as Swapnil said, we cannot wait for this to get any better, because we know it is not going to :P
So, we will make it with high ground clearance and with suspension if possible. By the way, long way to go. I don't get time to think about it.

Raguram

We can make the batteries swapplable with recharged batteries available in specific locations in exchange for the dischaged battery for a fee, This would be like a battery bunk like we have a petrol bunk. The discharged batteries can then be recharged and exchanged many times.

Better patent this idea!

Hi Raguram!
Idea sounds good and had already crossed my mind. But it's India, it's not at all practical here. The best example is the vandalised semi luxury train just after it's first journey.

Nothing to patent here I guess. Something more automated would be logical to be patented.
