diy 3d printer help

Hi,
I need some guidance in making a 3d printer using arduino uno and cnc shield v3. i have purchased all the parts and put majority together, but am stuck in wiring up the heater head. any guidance will be immensely helpful.

for a 3d printer i doubt if cnc v3 shield would be sufficient

A CNC V3 sheild may not have the desired control circuitry etc to do run the heater. You have a few options:

1. choose something like a RAMPS board instead https://www.twinschip.com/RAMPS1.4_Board

2. Use a board that can drive a spindle and use the relay for the heater.

3. if you really want to use only cncv3, an alternative could be to hook up a relay to a raspberry Pi and install octoprint on it to control the relay remotely.

Options 2 &3 you'll still need to figure out a way to feedback temperature values and maintain the temperature.
