Hi
Had an interesting experience recently on our neighbor discussion group ( aka Forum ):
1) My mobile no. and e mail was deleted from a post where I had specially given it for a newbie from Chennai asking questions on the power set up.
2) I had given a link to this forum for IIT Gawhati to follow about their festival and the whole post was deleted
Just thought I would once again appreciate the free and fair approach of this forum and the benefits we are deriving from it {:)}

Hello mr.sai and guys
I truly agree rcindia is a very nice portal for newcomers as well as experts to discuss and get things straight. Whereas the other forum has some weird rules even one of my post was deleted earlier. Its not that it was of utmost importance but deleting anybody's posts is not done.
Anwar u are the dude, thanks for letting us discuss anything and everything on this superb forum.
Cheers
Atul G. ;D
Atul ,
You could be banned ( like me ) from the group for telling this . ;D
My posts deleted as I am competitor is understandable why your post ???
sai
tats alrt.. there isnt much of a discussion on the other so called forum anyways..
why my post ? - Well, i tried buying some stuff from you knw what i mean.. i was shown a lot of attitude plus the other person abruptly just kept the phone down when i was still talking. So tat was really insulting..neways its a free country ;D

That is very rude!..
I am one of the earliest members of that forum (from 2003) and I think the same rules were there right from the start. I am not active in the early days but I know how it used to be. I have had lots of encouragement and lots of learnings but now it seem to be different. Personally, I did not have any bitter experience, may be because I am not a seller and I am spadder.
BTW, I feel that there is no point in discussing about other forums here. It just adds to the already existing friction between people and tarnishes the image before others. If you are not welcome then do not go there.
I hope rcIndia sticks to its basic principles of total freedom.

This is getting to be a boring subject, but another genuine link to this forum just got deleted.
In the thread http://www.indiarc.com/forum/index.php?topic=2621.0 , Sahil had posted the most relevant information to the question asked, which is Saju's post in http://www.rcindia.org/electric-power/amp-rating-and-motor-size/ . But that entire post by Sahil is gone (not just the link!). Now you can only see the person who asked the question thanking Sahil, with no post by Sahil himself in the thread.
If this continues, I can only see this forum flourishing because of this "bass ackwards" attitude.
Anwar ,
Yes the subject might be quoted too often but the reason for that is the sudden burst of freedom you have provided so expect these praises to keep coming for some time more as the attitude is only growing by the day and desperation is evident.
Thus leading to a loss of relevance due to it turning from a discussion to a protected sales only platform .

first of all i would like to appreciate anwar bhaiya and sai uncle for the reasons i shall mention below
about 3 hours later a person called nand kishore agarwal called me up enquiring about beginners planes and others stuff after some talk he mentioned again that as he was in pune to but some rc stuff he contacted the store(you know which) and his call too was hung up and moreover he was asked to buy a glow plane which he did not want to fly crash and waste money to get it fixed. i think sai uncle you might be knowing him. i have also asked him to purchase either a moss or a slow stick (which he seems to have liked because he has a lot of coro left and was thinking of building one himself). so sai uncle you might just have a customer he is going to buy a lipo, the 2212/10 bl combo and the slow stick as(sai uncle) you said that you dot have the stock motor. also i suggested him not to fly his glow plane as no one is there to supervise him in chattisgarh as he said. in my history of purchases i can tell you that never i mean NEVER EVER has sai uncle hung up or even switched his phone off and i have even bothered him so much that i dont think anyone would have so hats off to you sai uncle and anwar bhaiya for this forum
Thanks for the compliments Subu .
I must confess I have a vested interest in helping new entrants to this wonderful hobby : future customers ;) ;D ;D
Seriously I believe that I learn as much when I speak to a beginner by having new questions added on to my mental FAQ's as much as the beginner learns from me.
I was a beginner not long ago especially to electrics and I learnt thanks to RCG and from guys who were as far apart as USA and Australia ( you would be surprised to know inputs and help from seasoned modelers in India was not forth coming ) so I am not at all surprised by what you guys face from you know who ;).
I know the problems a beginner goes thru in India as I have learnt so at a high cost so I try my best to make sure other beginners don't have to go thru the same , but if some one chooses to do so despite good intentions it is his choice.
I strongly believe that if this great hobby has to grow in India and there by sustain hobby shops there have to be many more who take up this hobby , with due respects to existing aero modelers a business cannot survive on the existing few :D .eg when I started there were 1600 members from all over India in the other entity aka forum of which a dozen were active can it sustain 1 hobby shop leave alone 10
