Google today celebrates Hedy Lamarr's brithday. Apart from being an acclaimed cine artist did you know that her invention during WWII is what gives us the Spread Spectrum and FHSS technology today that enables us to fly RC models with much lesser interference.
Her another connection to modelling world was through her first marriage. Her first marriage was with Friedrich Mandl  Chairman of the Hirtenberger Patronen-Fabrik, maker of the HP engines  apart from their main business of manufacturing munitions.

On 27th Feb last year, VC (who's that ,  ) started a thread by posting a pic of Hedy Lamarr.
The thread lasted only 6 days, perhaps as it puzzled the hell out of some of the younger members due to off the beaten track responses by worthies like Gusty, Sandy, SanjayRai, VC himself. And yours truly.

Yeah looks like I had missed that interesting discussion over there, no point now waking up sleeping ..... will need some good amount of those blue pills.
Any way apart from the FHSS and Spread Spectrum, the other connection (HP) did not come up at the earlier thread about the beautiful lady
