Nice article!! TFS Anwar!!!

I recently tested my Android phone's GPS on a Commercial Jet flight! contrary to my belief that the code fix patch error in civilian GPS chips make them not work at speeds in excess of 220Km/hr. It recorded  the max cruise speed of 986Km/hr, which was later confirmed by my friend who was travelling on the Jump seat in the cockpit off on vacation (an Airline Pilot's perk, I am so jealous of )!!  Same guy's late Father showed me a huge Garmin GPS long back in early 1990's, alsmost double the size of today's Credit Card swipe machine..

Yep during my flight to Trichy, I observed the same with my Dell Streak too it could record the speed of the Airplane.

My Garmin Vista HCX showed SOG of 756 km/hr on way back from Goa (2 weeks back). I was just curious to check and was surprised with the accuracy of maps also.

Thanks,

Hiren

I believe the Iranians on this one. The description of techniques they used make sense.

Any kid knows you can't trust the colours in a digital photograph. Using that as basis of your argument shows how much they were out of ideas to refute their enemy.
