I like the recent posts on this thread by Rai saheb and Shobhit sir.
Reminded me of the Mercury Martin, my first real kit after Bobni etc.
Unfortunately, my mamaji who bought it for me worked for Dunlop.
So the glue he gave me was rubber solution!
After nearly 40-45 years, i can still visualise the uprights in the fuselage leaning forward at each landing.
Never used rubber solution again!
But thats incidental.
My real concern is in my next post.

@anwar sir,
Can we move the Wanted Posts off the main page, like you moved the Sales Posts last year?
Regards.

From my personal experience, forums are not really a thing in India, that's why it's not so popular as compared to foreign forums. 95% of people I have spoken to do not know what forums are, or what they are used for.

Also, I do not wish to offend anyone, and I'm certainly not speaking about everyone, but most people have a very selfish attitude. Whatever information they attain, they wish to keep to themselves. That is, however, defeating the purpose of a forum, where a community gets together and discusses/shares information/news.

They are many wonderful members here and even though the community is small, the members are very nice and helpful. It's proof that forums havent outlived their time, nor will they in the near future.

@anwar sir,
Any thoughts on moving 'Wanted' posts off the main page?

It's been more than 10 days since the start of this thread but there hasn't been a single comment from any of the moderators or admins. That tells a lot...

Yes most young people including me are more interested in ready-to-fly models...
For me the reason was what if I make the model and dosent even fly or it crashes so i buy rtf versions..
I should change my attitude and I will change it...
Regarding older members i think they are more helpful than in any other forums.. Best example are  IYER SIR,  SANJAY SIR AND MANY OTHERS.
Also guys i fear that if my parents are giving me money to build something and it is failure they promote me but next time im afraid...

But I will never agree it has outlived it's time. It is a repository of valuable information.

Maybe a better search engine, or a little reorganization of old data would help.

More contests, maybe. Instead of all prizes in one sweepstakes, distribute them over 3 or 4?

Ad and pop-up blockers effectively reduce the Ad Coverage and Response, so maybe some re-design there?If the forum is richer, more goodies can be given.

And, I guess we are all many of us are a bit selfish: our dear Admin has to do all the work  :headscratch:

Don't see much activity from too many of the other administrators

:)

I have removed wanted posts also initially, but put them back at the request of many beginners who did not get what they wanted because nobody was seeing them.

So if majority wants them out, we can filter them out along with "For Sale".
