Hobbyking is having a 12 hour promo on this lipo Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C now for usd 8.99 only. This is the right time to buy if anyone of you is interested in this...
Sujju Bhai, typical question from a LiPo newbie. I received this charger with my MiG 29. Can this be safely used to charge the Flightmax 2200mAh?
Sorry for answering when i was not asked , I guess you can . It is Li-po charger , tus should be able to charge any Li-Po :)
Hey nothing to be sorry about. I appreciate your trying to help. Just that since Sujju started the thread, I addressed the question to him. My mistake, perhaps, I worded it wrong.
Thanks!
yes it is a lipo charger and surely this should charge 2-3 cell lipos... but can you also take a pic of the leads jsut to be on the safer side... also it says that it is a Li-On charger (this is where my confusion is)... as Lithium - Ion batteries chemistry is diffrent from Lithium polymer batteries in the type of electrolyte used ... now if your charger manual states that it can charge both li-po and li-on batteries then its fine. but pls pls be careful as i have seen lipos catch fire and it no fun... yesterday my expensive :banghead: castle creation 60 amp esc caught went up in flames inside the house. was stunned to see my furion 450 on fire... jsut managed to plug it off from the lipo and the heli and threw it away (my kid was beside me when this happened.. more grief).. posted this on helifreak.. check this out... in short pls be careful with the electronics stuff http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=206512 (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=206512)
Jesus H. Christ! Now you scaring the @#*% out of me!
no VC.. there is nothing to be scared of.. its just being a bit careful when dealing with these stuff.. they are all safe only the permutations / combination (blame it on maths now) go wrong sometimes.. but i have said this earlier here and will do it again BE SAFE AND GET A LIPO SAFE BAG.. or anything that will prevent accidental fire and frankly you dont want to see a lipo on fire in your house,, espececially if you have wooden floorings...
but in your case VC have a look at the manual and if it says that its for lipos use it "bindas" but with supervision..
Since the words "lipo balance charger" are there, it is pretty much a sure bet (if we can trust what is on the label). These simple 2 or 3 cell charge using the balance port only, and will take a long time (around 2 hours to charge) the 2200mAH lipo at around 0.8A charge current. Other than that, it should be fine.
i accept what anwar said! charging can be done but time consuming.....but cannot be used as a field charger.....
i remember, i charged one 3 cell 2600 mah battery (owner subu) and it took more then 2 hrs to complete.

That is exactly what I thought, based on my rudimentary knowledge of electromaths. (Wow! I just created a new portmanteau word, I guess....)
Thanks Guys!
