Post by: AEROVISHWA on May 06, 2011, 09:50:46 AM
http://www.rcindia.org/chatter-zone/stealth-heli/msg60517/#msg60517

wats the reason for the planes crashing in arunachal or assam...............

there have been 9 crashes since the WWII nearly at the same place

recent one being that of the arunachal CM's chopper...  in 2009 an IAF AN32 .... in 2008 an IAF MIG21

[Moderator edit]This has been split from the 'stealth helicopter crashes' thread since this has no relation to that

When I saw the title, I thought you were thinking of a place for all of us to meet up.. lol..

On topic: The accident rate in these places is alarming. What reasons do they usually cite? Poor visibility, bad weather?

Have you ever thought the terrain these machines are flying over or trying to land or take off from?
Flying over the hump (the Himalyas) was one of the toughest routes for pilots during the WWII.
9 crashes over a peiod of more than 60 years and we  are saying alarming?? I am sure there are airports which will have higher number of crashes in the same period :giggle:
