Rat's there goes sleep.  You have a Nova Gusty ??? you surprise me. I thought you didn't like them.  A 10.5 inch prop, I hadn't considered using anything so large. Perhaps because they would have interfered with the prop guards I purchased. I must admit it does look better with the two leading guards in flouro red. I've purchased carbon fiber props for mine and I'll fit them after I've maidened her.  I've heard the DJI props are too flexible in flight. The carbon props are much stiffer. I haven't heard of the double battery carrier either. How on earth did I miss that?.

Prior to getting the carbon props I purchased 2 sets of DJI's and during a search for Bixler prop I discovered 3 sets of props I'd seen on Ebay. After a close look I realised they were DJI, identical to the ones I'd recently bought. Now I have in total, 7 complete sets. I suffer from not realizing what I've purchased up to 5 years ago and I often get a pleasant surprise to find something I forgot I had. I'm not so happy when I buy something and discover later I already had it.. I've tried to split everything up and put them in boxes marked with their contents, but over time things get mixed up when new stock arrives. I now have 3 large boxes of props, standard in two plus folding, and carbon in the other. I currently have at least a dozen boxes of parts which need sorting into their appropriate places.

How is your Nova? are you happy with it? If you've had 7 or 8 flights it sounds trouble free. I assume you've been right through it and checked for lifting FC and receiver. The adhesive pads they used weren't exactly adhesive. Mine needed little pressure to pull away from the motherboard. I did all the advised mods and a few tidied up solder joints, just in case type work was carried out. She sits there now, just out of arms length away patiently waiting her maiden flight. When I've felt good enough to be able to fly her the weather has been either too windy or too damned hot. When things cool down a little I'll sit out on the front verandah with an ice cold soft drink and fly her around the garden. I have some RGB 5050 LEDs headed this way to pretty her up for night flying. I realised only a few days ago I won't be able to control the lights during flight as the Nova's receiver is only 6 channel, with the gimbal they are all occupied. I'll have a think about building a timer/controller to auto change colour. The supplied controller for the lights is too bulky and heavy to consider using it. Maybe I could remove it from it's case and cut it down to the bare essentials. It would certainly save having to design and built something suitable. I purchased 3 UFO looking LED light arrays from BangGood. They give a marvelous light display with varying colours and patterns. The problem is it's built to use 240 volts without suing a transformer so my plan of rerigging it for aircraft is out.

If you have any video of yours I'd be interested in seeing it with 12 inch props, Maybe a comparison between standard and 12 inch props would be interesting as well. I must clear off mate. I'm weary even after sleeping this afternoon. Plus I have my new collection of every number one hit on the British hit parade since 1952 to listen to. It's a dozen CDs worth so it'll take time to get through :)

Cheers Gusty, safe flying mate. ...  Stu

Lovely pets And I would really like to see all the images sir.:D

I'm glad to see you are all pet lovers as well. Please excuse my ignorance. At least we're not like some of our Asian friends, they eat dogs of all breeds. I traveled all over whilst in the Navy and what I saw in some of the markets was sickening. I vowed never to return. OK it's a cultural thing but just because they eat them gives no reason to cruel to them as well. They were hanging in cages designed for dogs a fraction their size. I was told it stops them bruising themselves if it can't move. Some I saw were bound up with string, when I first saw them I assumed they were dead, sadly they weren't and stayed bound up sometimes for days, until they were sold.

We treat our two dogs as part of the family, sometimes their needs come before ours. I'm happy my Bert has bonded with me, he sleeps at the foot of my bed and is just starting to protect me. It's very funny hearing a low growl coming from a bundle of fur. If he growls at my nurse when she arrives I simply tell him to sit down and he'll go quiet but still keeps a close watch. He's a great companion and shows a lot of affection. I just wish he could talk. It would be great to know what he's thinking. But he does the next best thing and I'm learning to understand his body language. I don't care if people call me mad or that I spoil him. I don't let him get away with being naughty although the puppy exuberance is still there.

Yesterday he discovered the toilet roll and decided to jump up and grab the end of it and run around the house. He got a severe reprimand and he knew what he did was wrong, but how do you chastise too heavily when you're laughing at him sitting in a great mound of tissue. He earns his keep by keeping us amused at his antics and simply being a friend. I had a shower an hour ago and he decided to join in. My wife had to dry him off while I took some photos. Here's one of them.  Before and after shots.

By the way guys, are there any rules regarding photo sizes? I'm not taking up server space as the photos are hosted by Photobucket. I've had an account with them since the day they began their service and it's a far better way to display them and store them.

Here's one for Gusty or anyone else who's a keen aircraft spotter. Can anyone tell me which aircraft this is. Make and model please. A friend and myself can't figure it out and it's impossible to Google a photo :) The 4 turbines have me beat. It's obviously a swing wing and I've never seen anything like it before.  Cheers all   ...   Stu

Let me answer in a round about manner !!

i have a friend who flew the Bone (B-1 bomber was called one, coz one dumb Journo wrote Bone instead of B-One), he was once joined in, close by another Bomber which was made to counter Bone, called Tupolev 160, travels at 2.05 mach (same as MiG 21) carries 25 Nukes which themselves travel at 5 Mach. Couple of these bombers can send this 'Blue Planet' of mine to pre- Bing Bang days (Apocalypse would be an understatement). I still have that hard copy which Col Mat (Bone pilot) gave me, of that formidable, revered, respected TU-160 BLACKJACK or White Swan

As soon as I saw it I knew who it was. That Superman Born again, Ninja, Karate expert, show-off, big headed, self centered, warlord Pukin' errr sorry Putin. He comes to Australia to be "shirt fronted" by our PM (he wouldn't have stood a chance) and just coincidentally half his bloody fleet of warships just happens to sail off our coast. Madly monitoring any and all conversations being made across Australia.

Arrogant Prig, I wish they'd shut his oxygen off. He wouldn't know one end of that plane from another, if his Aides didn't advise him first. Bloody pilot, my foot. You may have the impression I don't like the man, please don't let me change your mind.

You know what Stu !

that's were we score over rest of the world ! prolly its our culture or the predominant vegetarian food we ate or may be years of astronomy maths and cerebral stuff has made us Indians this way ! we rarely have any strong emotions for others. even to our dear friends Pakis, we dont carry grudge ! like you just expressed.

What does it do to us ? we retain the sanity and therefore the ability to question (albeit in a peaceful manner)

English looted us, you will rarely see us cussing the queen !! there is Diego Garcia next door in IOR ( Indian Ocean Region) 99% of us dont even know that it is owned by Americans and they are eves dropping. So What !! As we speak Prez Obama is attending our Republic Day parade, Chewing Gum, we dont mind that either. coz, for us, your freedom is as important as mine

PS
Just a POV, so that you can get a glimpse of our culture which truly is  "In Varietate Concordia"

PPS
By no means i am defending Putin

Thanks for the info Gusty. I owe you a beer. I bet 2 beers it was Russian, only because of the stars on the wings. A shame I don't drink. :)  What a load of piffle that last video was. See the look on his face after that missile went off? The whole thing was staged. One big PR stunt. I have to wonder how many families starved so he could afford the fuel burned just do he can look good. Bloody phoney. Every time he's been in a cockpit it's been in the "co-pilot's" seat. I almost vomited when they did that western style hand smack. By the way, did you notice the refueling plane "taking off". It wasn't, Listen to the audio, it was landing.

I must admit it's a nice looking plane. Unusual to have anything Russian which looks good. They tend to be rather ugly. The poser has a fleet of civil aircraft, why would one piddling little twerp need more than one plane to run around in? Because Obama only has one, he's more important. he thinks. One last thing. Those Presidential planes he uses are decorated in Old Russian period decore ........ Made in  the UK. Aren't his minions up to the task or fitting out his plane. After all, if the British got it wrong he wouldn't be able to execute them, would he? :)

At least he's doing a good job at thinning out the population in Russia, it's called Driving A Car. Russians would have to be the worse drivers on the planet, mostly driving Fiat 140T's from what I've seen.  Arrgh that feels better. If you have to vent, do it over Russia's best loved worm. Please don't tell them I said that :)

Cheers Gusty   ...   Stu

Gee Gusty, you paint us in a bad tone. Aussies may be the most respected fighters around today but we're a peace loving nation. Plus we are free to say what we want. Simply slinging off at a runt of a man doesn't mean we aren't at peace with ourselves. It's a national pastime, giving someone a hard time. The best of mates do it all the time. To give someone a friendly dig, as we call it has never hurt anyone. In fact some believe it's all part of bonding. No mate, to rip someone to shreds verbally does us good occasionally. It's said we only elect a Prime Minister so we have someone to complain about.

Deep down we're a gentle race, we know where we stand, and we'll take no BS. If someone's in need we're always there to help out. We won't go down on our knees to anyone and we don't like those who go down on their knees to others. We call a spade a spade, and occasionally a shovel. Some races don't like our blunt persona and yet people are flocking to our country. Mainly for the opportunities we offer but also for the freedom to do and say pretty much what we like. Excepting when it crosses the boundaries of decency and the law of course.

We certainly have our sanity and we certainly retain our right to question that which we think is wrong. That's all part of freedom. OK we have our problems but in this age who doesn't? You mistake my right to express my views about a man very few Aussies admire, for having a grudge. Just because I don't like the way a person runs his country, doesn't mean I have any ulterior motive, he's done nothing to me personally but I do have the right to say exactly what I think, maybe a little over the top, but does it really matter. A phrase you'll hear in Australia a lot is "Who cares" most of us would sooner sit on our front verandah's sipping whatever we wish to sip and let the world go by.

One thing we're not, is a submissive society, we don't walk around thinking one thing and doing another. What eating vegetables has to do with anything I haven't a clue. I've certainly never believed eating meat had any detrimental mental problems associated with it. Could it be your culture simply doesn't have sufficient quantities of meat to feed everyone. It would definitely make people vegetarians. Didn't Jesus eat meat? I don't know, that's why I ask. How about the Pope, Winston Churchill, George Washington, Mother Teresa, etc. etc. etc. I'm pretty sure the majority of everyone who was anyone ate meat, so to say it contributes to certain attributes is rather flawed.

BUT, who gives a toss, we're RCers not philosophy students, psychiatrists or psychologists. Just everyday common and garden variety RCers. Let's forget the Blackjack and White Swan. I'd much rather talk planes, boats and multicopters. And that just reminded me to check BangGood to see if they have my Flight Controllers in. I'm very keen to try them out after my friend here extolled it's virtues. As the big man said. "I'll be Back"

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
