Hi swapnil,  things have changed a little bit since the posting of this topic..  u can buy through ebay. Com or aliexpress, but the customs seems to be more strict than before. Ur parcel maybe imposed duty @ around 33%.  If you are lucky the parcel may reach u with out any duty. One more thing, if you are a SWL and have no ticket u may get in trouble...

Good day

Sorry, but what is SWL I don't know..... ??? ???

warriornair

Swl means short wave listener which means an un livenced ham radio enthusiast, i was talking about ham radio... Importing ham radio and most other wireless equipment needs licence issued by wpc...  by ticket i mean licence issued by wpc for HAMs only

I brought it before getting a licence,  but there were no issues..  but nowadays they ask to send them copys of licence,  or else we wont get the parcel

From AliExpress?
Is it safe to buy lipo batteries from AliExpress??

warriornair

Yeah, but there are a few genuine sellers selling genuine 18650s. LiPo sellers on AE are using Turkey post for shipping LiPos.

Yeah,  but most of the time there capicitys are exaggerated, even saw a seller who sells 9400mah 1865....

They are all shitty cells & have like 1500mAH capacity at best. Some of them are even dangerous lacking CID or any other protection mechanism. Specially cells like Ultrafire are a joke. Generally capacity is at peak around 3300 mAH for genuine 18650s. I have even seen over exaggerated nimh AA cells having like 5000mAH lol. AFAIK Panasonic doesn't sell some (or all?) of their 18650s loose for retail. They only sell it to certified battery pack vendors which directly goes into battery packs.
