I have seen many Lipo safety bags on AliExpress and i selected one of them to buy but problem is china.Chinese lipo safety bag will work while charging?
If any accident, Lipo Bag can handle fire?
Please suggest about how to charge lipo safely.

prabal276

They may work. They may not.
Is the price too-good-to-be-true?
If it, then they may be made cheaply and won't provide proper protection.
Better invest in a quality assured product. Not safe to play with your health by saving few bucks!

The one you get from LHS will be the same thing. They buy it from China and sell it at a higher price here(no problem with that).
So, getting it from either of them makes no difference.
Hence it comes to whether to buy or not buy.

Something is better than nothing, so you may choose to go for one. If you can wait, then go with Aliexpress, else with LHS.

Hope that helps.

I did not see your last question. Sorry.

If you really want to be safe and not use a Lipo Bag, What you can do is get a small sandbag and a plastic container. Put the charging lipo in the container. In case of an explosion, the sand will leak out and eliminate the fire.

Aravind298

Hey! So did I ;D
Forgot the last part. Lipo bags cannot really handle the fire. They are just made to protect the exterior from heat, and cut-off the oxygen supply.

Here's one of the setup that you can use, like the one mentioned by Prabal.

prabal276

Well,
For your reference, this is a test of the Chinese lipo battery bags;

Better set some fireworks off in your house rather than get this bag. I bought one when I was just starting in the hobby. Never used it.

Check this thread on RCG about the sandbag method as well:

Never used one, hardly needed one. IMO , Covering with extra protection will actually make it a bomb. A little oxygen, which is already inside will make it burst into flames. And Covering it will probably make it explode. If it's outside, as long as you supervise it's charging , anything can be avoided.

Again buddy, please make sure what you say makes any sense ;D

It's not true. As soon as the supply of oxygen is terminated, the flame is cut off. And you cannot be 'probable' here.
Putting sand does the same thing. It simply cuts off the oxygen supply, along with cooling down the materials on fire.

'Little Oxygen' will not burst into flames. 'Little hydrogen' does :D

prabal276

@ AL HAM SHARI
This is not an isolated system that the combustion is restricted to only the box and no exchange of heat or energy can take place. In that case, the pressure would increase w/o expansion in volume leading to a uncontrolled rupture of the box.
This is an open system.
When the battery burst, the sand bag ruptures, allowing gas to escape as it is replaced by sand. The oxygen supply is cutoff and the flame can't breathe any more.

This is all common science knowledge.

Not really

Advice given without  checking it's accuracy is worse than not giving any reply at all.

I'm not talking about sand bags etc. I am talking about the normal bags.

Define 'normal bags'.

Please, buddy, it's a sincere request. Be very clear of what you speak. And make sure it's right. Well we're humans and we do make mistakes,
but we need to be certainly sure that our mistakes should not physically and mentally hurt others.

If someone had listened to what you had said, he/she might be in danger. It's much safer to put the lipos in a concrete closed box, while charging, than charging it in the open.

I'm a regular battery tester, and I've my own setup to charge and discharge packs safely. Even though I do it indoors, there are a lot of combustible gas and ir sensors, along with much-sophisticated chargers, should anything were to go wrong.
And doing it in the open, without any protection is one of the worst things that one can do.

Beginners can charge it indoors, with a good quality charger, along with a constant supervision. That should do. If anything goes wrong, unplug the charger, and have a sandbag ready.

prabal276

I can see the words "extra protection" and "covering" in your post. They don't refer to normal lipo safe bags I gather.

You should never post to increase your number of posts or for the sake of posting on every topic.
I hope you understand.

Extra protection and covering meant by bags. Think of this, If you put a AA battery connected to a mains , it explodes, not catch fire but explodes. Why? It's encased in a tube. On the other hand , lipo only catches fire and if it explodes, it won't be much damage to the surroundings ( watch YouTube ). If you put it in a bag , the tension increases. Hope you understand.
P.S: I have never posted to increase my posts , most of the time I post out of enthusiasm. And , I have been here almost an year ago before you and you have had  4x posts than me. You may have done that , but don't think everyone does it.
@aravind bro , I understand but , enclosed explosions are worse than normal ones.

Listen buddy, I don't want to waste anymore of my time  debating on this topic. No lipo will ever explode as said in your original post.

Period.

one bag is of $2.55 and another is of $2.45 or $3 dollar and both seen on AliExpress

I know Lipo Safety Bag can't stop exploding lipo but bag can stop fire so area where battery explode will be safe and there is no risk. I asked about chinese lipo safety bag because chinese quality is bad even in Indian, you all know about "China ka maal  hai" song.Okay one bag is of $2.5 and other is of $2.4 dollar.
Quality of the bags will be good or not?

AL HAM SHARI

China is like any other country. Dji is from China , so it may be good or may be bad. Depends.
