Yes I know what you mean Gusty. I want to thank Wing Co Chaudhury (ex Mars ATC Eagle) for the Flying Suit and the boots in 2007. Let's not discuss this any further - it still hurts.

Just curious... do you generalize everything in life this easily ?

Have you got any idea what it takes to walk outside in -60 degrees ? I don't, but I can imagine.

There are bad apples, but I hope you grow up to have a wider view of things.  Guess you only look at a section of the high ranking officers, not the foot soldiers.

"IF someone will come to your land then wont you find your self strong enough to defend your land ?"

Great! Since our politicians are also corrupt and do not serve the people, let's remove them and run this country ourselves. Also since many Govt. officials are corrupt, lets dissolve all departments like PWD, PHE, Industries, BRO etc. and do all the work ourselves.

Stop talking nonsense here. Just because of a handful of corrupt individuals you can't vilify an entire Organisation.

Did I say every one is non-corrupt ? I would even agree that discipline/corruption problems are increasing, and the public needs to be aware and even vocal about that. But putting everyone in the same bucket is, pardon me, juvenile/dumb.

I hope you are smart enough to realize that you are "generalizing". If people followed your account, every politician in India is corrupt, every citizen including you and me have no sense of cleanliness, and so on... Got the point ?

In fact, why stop at the military ? Let us blame every single individual for every problem that we come across !

Regarding salary etc again, I can only say you seem to have hung around the senior folks. I hope the light dawns on you some day.

PS: Regarding looking outside India etc, I am going to ignore that because you have no idea how much I have interacted with outside India. I will only say you make yourself look a bit foolish on this forum with that comment :)

If I could qualify, pass all of the tests, get my wings, of course I would want the life of a jet pilot.  You get to fly the fastest and most expensive toys and get paid for it too!  The price is the willingness to give your life to your country if you get the call and are placed in harm's way, ie Combat Air Patrol over a hostile area.

All RC forums will have a sprinkling of licensed pilots and then the rest are happy to be grounded RC pilots.  Two different breeds with diverse opinions and values.  Still, the conversation is about sharing and should remain respectful or the dialogue stops and the shariing stops and then the forums die.

What about the Indian Navy?  Don't they have pilots too?  Perhaps some are here insterested in landing on carriers?

168 are not few I far as I know in the world I am living. It is enough to generalize and there are many more cases before this to generalize, if you have seen india more than me then why considering -60 degrees as they are doing a work which normal people cant do ? you should have recalled your global knowledge before pointing out -60C work condition as achievement as you said above " because you have no idea how much I have interacted with outside India "

168 out of somewhere around 1.3million ?  How about 100x that ?  16800 out of 1.3million (active members per online records) ? That is still 0.013 percent.  You vilified 99.987 percent ? Even if it is 1000x, you are still vilifying over 99 percent.  In the world the rest of us are living in, that is just being stupid ;)

I am normal, and I wouldn't find it easy to spend an extensive period of time in -60 degrees, with the need to go out in blizzards etc. I guess you are "more normal than most" (courtesy George Orwell).

Do you really want to continue belittling yourself :)

Only the wiki page opens, not the you tube. Obasanjo mentioned as an ex-alumni is called the richest man in Africa - dead or alive. He was the former Nigerian President!

I agree with VC Sir.
In general non combatants should refrain from commenting on the Armed Forces unless they have served at least a few years.
Talk is cheap. Please go to Drass, Kargil, Leh between Oct and March.
Those who have not been there have NO RIGHT TO COMMENT.
One presumes that our correspondent has been in the Army long enough to comment with authority.
