here is a self assessment tool developed by Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) . see if you have it in you , however the tool does not dissuade anybody from applying to Armed Forces except for giving an indication towards the candidate's potentiality for the job.

Its always a good choice to join IAF, but many people have a mutual question about getting paid.
They say their salaries are not as they expected. I mean, living a 7 star luxury life can be a real challenge for IAF/Army guys.
Is it really true?

DIPR is a common organization for all three services,this is the organization that trains the selectors, take their word as gospel,

I guess I can't join the military at 16...

I answered 4 questions correctly and gave up. I attribute it to not having enough patience.

well, despite having everything, my height stopped me!! now trying brain to join HAL or DRDO so that the short height pilots will be eligible in future!!
anyway this is a good effort, and if IAF want to influence youngsters it must have its motivational videos on youtube like the paki army channel.
Remember when Red army was falling back at stalingrad in ww2, it was a army news paper idea by Nikita Kurschev to raise the people's mental strength to fight for nation. we are facing same crisis here, with the technical difference is that our news channels showing IAF is full of non flying aircraft only!!

in fact lot of people in the yesteryears were rejected because of being tall, HAL, DRDO is better, we need to be self reliant, this service will last longer than actual combat flying

About the Red Army Story: We need to learn how they succeeded, not the way they failed, I am not in total support of the Russian govt at that time but some of their ideas inspired me as they did for their youths!! Ex:Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev!!

stalin? what about lenin? he was the one who took over the revolution and became first leader, he killed millions of russians during his reign and stalin just made it worse. hitler killed one of the community of his country and others died in the war of his craziness but remaining germany doesnt die of hunger. also what hitler did had happened in almost every muslim country and happening today too. so there is no comparision of russian madness and of hitler. hitler was bad, but lenin and stalin were devils who believed in theory of bloodshed for life (dialect theory of marxism)

Somewhere earlier in this thread there was a mention of MARS. I have some very fond memories of my sojourn with them at Agra in 2007. I inherited my first Blue Flying Suit/Flying Boots from them. The second (the NATO Green) was kind courtesy a fellow RCI member, who would not like to be named here.
