Title: Making Mini Drones Bigger! Few Problems!
Post by: Kedar264 on September 02, 2016, 11:45:09 AM
Hello Everyone, This Is M y First Post ! :)

I've This Idea from very long time  , Mini Drones are very popular and cheap nowadays so can we convert them into bigger sized drones . {:)}

Here's My Video :hatsoff:
https://youtu.be/EltCLJGEm5A

I've Hacked The (Tiny) Cx-10 Drone and made it into into a Syma X5sw Bigger sized drone it was lot of fun ,too many catches,bit of a learning curve in making drones but still it's kinda cool hack !

The last flight i got upto is quiet unstable ,its wobbling back & forth  :banghead:
it looks like the the values of motion sensing unit need to be changed , please let me know your suggestions ! :bow:

Nice video, was an interesting watch.

Only suggestion I have is please stop saying "drone", multirotor or quad are much better terms.

Wobblings are due to wrong PID settings. Settings are configured according to tiny quad but when you have increased its size then the settings need to be changed accordingly. But i dont think there is such provision for that flight controller. It would be better if you can change the transistors because they may not be rated for little big motors. The flight controller inside must be fixed. It seems like it is left floating inside the shell of multirotor.
Anyway nice work.

Good show kedar. Excellent application of mind and commonsense. Fixing the flight controller inside the frame to avoid relative motion between frame a d MP36050 would be a great idea like Mr reddy suggested
