There was this hobbyist flying his model and distributing pamphlets and lost control and crashed in front of CM !
What craziness.

Thats what I have posted regarding flying at Safdarjang Airport, Delhi! One crazy flyer, Media and the archetypal 'Suck-urity' agencies taking things out of proportions! They should have pressed the panic button on the sight of th R/C plane, instead of jumping to wild conclusion after the crash.

Its better Govt puts a circular not to fly planes in unspecified areas, instead of banning the sports/hobby all together.

Hope this incident doesn't affect innocent and serious flyers... just crossing the finger.

PS: What about flying a Microlight in the event all together ? wasn't that could have been more lethal weapon ? Why they are not looking at that aspect ? Wasn't that Z-security given the entire manifest about the proceedings ? including Flowering by a 'private plane' !! What a joke!!

Should not have done RC flying in front of such a crowd, unless specifically requested by the organizers and have that in writing too !

But it could also be a case where the RC guys thought they had approval per the microlight guy.  It would be his fault that he arbitrarily decided to change events and not seek the right permissions.

It is a lesson for everyone when you get invited to host shows, to seek approvals in writing (or at least an official program chart which lists the RC activity as  part of the show/proceedings) !  The risks about these models should also be discussed before hand, stressing the point that in general it is a very safe activity.
