I finally got my RCB (RCBazaar) 450 trimmed tracked and ready to go and got a calm weather window at about 6pm on Wednesday. Noticed a lot of tail vibration while spooling up particularly around 1/4 stick. But that disappeared at a higher rpm. Pushed the stick up and managed a reasonable take-off with a bit of right cyclic. The training gear really helped and the gyro held well but the heli showed a tendency to scoot forward. Brought her down and gave her two clicks of back cyclic trim and took off again. No change. Still moving forward with a vengence. Two more clicks on the trim tab and still no difference. Continued with short hovers and landings. Found the heli very sensitive on the controls. Nothing like a 4ch fp. You really have to be delicate at the controls. However my greed to get one last flight before bad light had its consequence - landed hard (-3 deg pitch at zero stick) with a tilt and that was the end.
Have ordered a second 450 body from RCB and will cannibalise the old one for spare parts.
Wish me luck!

Hi mate.
sounds good ....you did well if this was the first flight of a CP heli.did you set it up your self?
try moving the battery back about 1/2 inch or so if the swash is perfectly level.
the battery  is usually the main culprit of forward or back flight at hover .
you are using a 'scale type' heli design?
have a couple of flights without the fuse untill you are more used to it.
if the cyclic stick is sensative put 'equal' weights on the fly bar by the paddles this will slow it down a bit for now unless you have a comp tx then put 15% expo on ail and elv.

Yup! Setting it up was the good part. Thought I did pretty well to get this far. Unfortunately I cant move the battery back because this is a Trex clone and the sloping front tray is so tight that there is no scope for shifting the battery anyehere. Will have to think of something else. Swash is perfectly level and no I did not have the canopy on.
Weights already on the fly bar. The only thing to do is put in some expo like you say and try next week again.
Thanks Sunk!

hi mate.
if it's a trex clone then the 'top sloping tray may give you better battery position.
post pick of how it is now.
have you tried the ballance test?
with it ready to fly .battery etc then put the blades in line with the body , which will put the fly bar 'across the heli' then pick up with a finger under each side of the fly bar the skids should be level with the floor/table etc.
if this is ok then put two turn on the ele servo link to direct it back wards/forwards to rectify the problem..... a level swash is only a starting point for initial setup.......very often we have to alter a servo link to get it to fly / hover as we wish.

Hi Don
I am using the sloping tray for the battery. I did check my CG and it was fine. Tightening a turn or two on the elev servo link may do the trick. Anyway the whole thing will now have to wait a couple of weeks as I am traveling. But I intend to stick with this model till I have it worked out. Luckily the spares are cheap and easily available here.
Thanks a ton for taking the time.

hi mate.
if C of G is ok then yes the servo link will sort it.
enjoy  :) :)
