F-35 Stealth Fighter in Indian skies ? Yes! if MMRCA deal is re-opened for Lockheed Martin! Though initial speculation, but this would be a leap forward to buy one of the technological front runner, compared to EF Typhoon , Rafale, Gripen etc.

Well..Not many countries are spending big bucks in air defense these days .  The overall package for spending is estimated around 20K Cr.

With aging and depleting fleet of 2nd Gen fighters like the MIG21, Mirage etc, India does need new planes. Unfortunately the indigenous projects like LCA and IJT have achieved too little too late. With two our arch rival neighbors upgrading their Airforce  and Navy, India cannot afford to lag behind. Mission FGFA is more important than Mission Moon.

why not F-22 Raptor

The export of F22 Raptor is banned by US laws to any country including its closes allies .

The American Govt should include a deal sweetener that "Tower Hobbies"
will give 50% discount to all orders shipped to Indian destinations.
