We got opportunity to cover the young cadets from bird eye on the occasion of NCC day 2015.
We kept it straight and simple.
Last year it was a sudden program but this time we are all prepared and shoot will start one week before the actual event.
So we will have practice and training clips. I'm also working on script to add as voice in background.
Here is the video-

Any suggestions and comment are most welcome.

Well, how else are you supposed to do aerial photography? And I'm sure he wasn't using a cheap home-made quadcopter. And I'm also sure he took every precaution given his experience.

Antriksh

Thank you Mr. manojswizera  :hatsoff:
@ Cycloned- The shot i needed, it was mandatory hence i took calculated risk.
However in most of video u'll see i'm flying next to cadets not over them.

Antriksh

Off course i had to take every thing in to account coz there were Air Commodore( a rank in Indian Air Force equivalent to Brigadier in Army), State Education minister and many chief Officers present.

Around people, as he did during the marches.

There is no "calculated" risk. It's just a risk. Your drone can fall out of the sky at any given time. No amount of experience can change that.

You should never fly over people. Period.

Antriksh

First, it is a quad not drone however now we are getting used to it.
As earlier mentioned I was flying P3 pro
Not a cheap homemade QUAD.
There is always risk in life even getting out of bed is a big risk, taking shower in wet bathroom should never be done coz it kills more people than heart attck.
This is all I can say.
Even still you are not satisfied then you must know that every cadet who join NCC including me fill a self declaration form in which he/she take all responsibility to any risk to their life

I wonder can a quad kill someone  :headscratch:

Cycloned

Doesnt matter if youre flying a cheap quad or the most expensive quad in the world. It can fall out of the sky at any given time.

Of course there are many risky things in life, but not flying over people is something we can easily implement. Is it worth endangering someone to get a good shot?

So youre saying it's okay to endanger people by flying over them because they signed a form? Poor cadets...

I suggest going to YT and watching channels of commerical UAV pilots who have been flying for decades. They never promote flying over people yet manage to take beautiful AP.

Antriksh

No words for you.
I can't change your tiniking.
Thank you for your input.

Cycloned

It's not "thinking", it's safe flying.

@antriksh,
Your video is excellent from many perspectives.
In fact good enough to be used as a recruitment advert for NCC.

But you must admit that a basic safety rule is of no flight over people.
Perhaps when there's another opportunity, you can video people from the side without overflying them.

Please do not take cycloned's comments as a criticism of the video. He's just making a safety point.

@cycloned Sir,
I think you've made your point. Please do not turn this into an argument!

Regards to both...
