Hello everybody,

from 2 years i have been flying alone in the park but now i think it's time to get new friend and competition. I live in mumbai and i have a lot of friends who are interested in rc vehicles but the only problem is their parents are not allowing them to spend money on this.

I need your help on how to convince them, i have been wracking my brains on this  :banghead:.

I also need a supplier who provides quality but cheaper products in india.
It would be very nice of you if you could help me and thanx (in advance).

A bit confused about the RC "vehicles" part...  do you mean cars alone, or airplanes ?

There have already been lots of discussion on beginner aircraft. Can you browse through the "beginners" posts in the gems list at :

Convincing parents is another story ;) Just getting them to see you flying may help !

Form a club, pool in some funds and let the club members use the RC vehicle inventory. What I've seen is that clubs will have a few trainers (typically donated by a kind LHS) and those will be used for all club training activities. Can't expect parents to shell out funds (at least for RC its quiet expensive) only to see their wards crash and waste the money.  :P A club or group is the way to go.

The most effective strategy I have seen deployed by the old timers here is to put others on a buddy cord, and let them actually fly one !

If you can handle a plane, have two radios and a high wing model, this strategy really works.  Just take the model a bit high, and let the person with no flying experience at all play with the aileron and elevator controls only. It is a great feeling to see the plane respond to *their* inputs, and people become "believer"s instantly  ;)

Thanx that is a very good strategy.
Hope this works very well with me.  {:)}
