Friends look at this report from TOI:

The drone in the picture seems to be a phantom. Does Indian defense use Phantoms as spy drones??

Maybe they do. That way no can point fingers at the armed forces directly.

Proud of the Indian spies ..that's a great way to keep a check on them but a bit of stealth would do

Maybe some Pakistani Soldier was trying to fly a Multirotor and then the rotor went out of control and he lost his phantom to a crash! In order to cover up this he claimed to have shot some spy drone that came from the Indian side...thinking of getting an incentive that would help him buy another  

Anyone who has actually been to Bhimber Gali would know that this claim is sheer nonsense.

Perhaps the Army can arrange guided tours for civilians to know what defending the borders is really like.

For example, how many people would know that Kargil is actually a bustling market place where you have traffic jams on the main street?
Or how toilets work in Drass or Leh in winter.

Perhaps you may like to share what life in border areas is really like. Other than Army and Air Force types, perhaps only SBI and P&T types have such exposure...

If Pakistan had sent such a drone into India, our Government would have imposed a blanket ban on flying drones in this country

I feel its not the government but again some idiots who flew the phantom close to the borders..and since phantom can fly upto 5 km (as shown on some youtube videos), I believed it crossed the border and then the Pakistani army destroyed it blaming it on the Indian government. Our government would never use Phantoms, India is far advanced than that

Less chances, everyone knows its hard to bring a rc stuff near border area is not a easy. and  flying with camera really not easy for a civilian.
