Pulse Width Modulation

Advantages and disadvantages of pulse width modulation
PWM stands for pulse width modulation, It is a method used to control the output voltage of the converter by modulating the width of the pulse of the output waveform. Here this article gives information about the advantages and disadvantages of pulse width modulation to know more details about it.

Advantages of pulse width modulation :
Cheap to make
Low power consumption
Efficiency up to 90 %
A signal can be separated very easily at demodulation and noise can be also separated easily
High power handling capacity
Can utilize very high frequency
Little heat whilst working
Noise interference is less
Very energy efficient when used to convert the voltage or to his light bulb
A system in moderate inefficiency among all three types
Synchronization between transmitter and receiver is not required unlike pulse position modulation (PPM)
Filter requirement is reduced
Amplitude and frequency can be control independently
Significance reduction in THD of load current
Disadvantages of pulse width modulation :
The complexity of the circuit
Voltage spikes
The system requires a semiconductor device with low turn ON and turn OFF times. Hence they are very expensive
Radiofrequency interference
Electromagnetic noise
Bandwidth should be large to use in communication
High switching loss due to the high PWM frequency
Instantaneous power of the transmitter is varies

What kind of receiver is this?

sanjayrai55

Read the article, you will know. Next time do a Google search yourself

Somnath Maji

Is in this receiver may I connect 03 Nos. of 9 grms. Tower Pro servo and 30 amp ESC directly?

sanjayrai55

Yes, but can't connect ESC direct. ESC is connected to battery, and BEC plug will go in the RX

Somnath Maji

So, this receiver has connecting pins like Avionic RZ6 2.4 Ghz?

sanjayrai55

I think it's about time you made some effort to find out things yourself. As a beginner, it is understandable that you have lot of questions, but if you don't try yourself, you will never learn! Try first, if you come across a real issue, then ask

Hi,

Mainly two types of recivers.

1. Multiple Output Type (Ex. PWM).

2. Single Output Type (Ex. S-Bus) also called Single Line reciver.

There are also hybrid receivers which offer both in single package (Ex. frsky X4R, rcb6i, frsky X8R etc, but individual outputs limited to 4, 6 and 8 channels respectively, where as 16 channels (Frsky) in single line S.Bus).

If your application involves a Flight Controller go for a single line receiver, as they are fast and provides maximum number of output channels.
