Title: Shaft fabrication for 2204 BLDC
Post by: AngryBee on May 30, 2019, 12:40:39 PM
After a crash, one of my 2204 bldc shaft get bend. It is painful to lost a motor due to a bent shaft. Made a new shaft with 3 mm welding rod (SS) to replace the bad shaft.

Thank you Tictok21, Vishal and Saikat.
Yes, a lathe HMT NH22 with 3 jaw small chuck. It is little difficult to handle 3 mm ss on a lathe so I have made same shaft using CF rod using simple tools and now load testing the shaft. I will post the results after the tests. But initially it looks a good alternative to SS.

If 3mm welding rod does not works then try 3mm rod from CD-ROM
