I just googled "Mumbai FPO" and was going through the search results. Then the word "Airgun" was eye-catching. Opened the link and found this:
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1003 (http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1003)
It's basically India's largest guns, shooting & outdoors community.
In the thread above, they discussed about negotiating with the customs guys during import of GUNS!!! (Of course, with a license).
I was stunned after reading post# 2. Someone imported a .117 air pistol via post (source-country not mentioend) that costed $345 !!!. He says that not a penny was charged as customs duty! :o and even says "Customs will inspect it and politely send it to your house".
How is all this possible??? ??? ??? ???
Can we all call them the real heroes in negotiating with customs dept.?
They are men with arms man :giggle: :giggle: ,Tx Rx doesnt look that dangerous to threat them..
just kidding
I dont know if you can call it negotiation .
In a lighter vein " put the gun to the ................. " ;) ;D not much is said after that :violent: just a change of instrument I guess
:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
Lets import guns with our rc stuffs .. lol ..
i am just back from mumbai customs..
god my.. they were very particular and smart..
i was lucky as i presented right declaration of my goods
but a fellow from mumbai next my table got fired for wrong declarations with penalties... that man was on the verge of crying when i was leaving...
regarding upper case : its just a luck -- and yes there are few ways actually thru which one can escape provided shipment volume if less...
even if caught - along with customs they will demand for licenses to have one and registration with appropriate office through proper channels... [ if proper channel ]
