Title: Tx with these features
Post by: mahir.asrani on December 04, 2014, 09:39:16 PM
Is there any radio that tell me how far my RX is going or indicate me when signal is getting low. So that my quad doesn't go out of range i don't wanna to crash my quadcopter :(
Radio under 6k

No there is no radio under 6K with telemetry.
another option for you is to use a flight controller with telemetry, like APM

Ok, really does ardupilot has this type of feature
I have a quad but there is kk2.1

GPS works in India, but accuracy is not exactly same in different places, sometimes a signal lock take long time.
and yes way point navigation is possible.

Frsky taranis with x8r and gps sensor and voltage sensor will tell you
How much flight time is left
How far have you gone
Everything that you need
As it has a voice module in it
But u wont get any of these for 6k
If even if u diy a flysky 9x it wont be completed in 6k

Be cautious about customs , nowadays they hold anything that comes with the tag - transmitter , receiver .

Mihir if all you want is signal status, add the FrSky DHT 8ch DIY Telemetry Compatible Transmitter Module to your current tx. No other mods required and the module beeps when your are moving out of range and beeps continuously if you are at the edge of max range . And frankly the range is more than sufficient for LOS flights so you would probably never loose signal. You have to buy receivers seperately tho.
So if you add module+receiver to your current transmitter it should cost less than 5k.

The one that I have mentioned is an internal module.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17205__FrSky_DHT_8ch_DIY_Telemetry_Compatible_Transmitter_Module.html (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17205__FrSky_DHT_8ch_DIY_Telemetry_Compatible_Transmitter_Module.html)

There are external module too, which is available in two combos/versions :

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14349__FrSky_DJT_2_4Ghz_Combo_Pack_for_JR_w_Telemetry_Module_V8FR_II_RX.html (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14349__FrSky_DJT_2_4Ghz_Combo_Pack_for_JR_w_Telemetry_Module_V8FR_II_RX.html)

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14355__FrSky_DF_2_4Ghz_Combo_Pack_for_JR_w_Module_RX.html (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14355__FrSky_DF_2_4Ghz_Combo_Pack_for_JR_w_Module_RX.html)

Now, I have no idea how would the customs behave; there is a very long, descriptive thread which discusses the issues. You should go through it before ordering internationally or check all the shops in India for availability.

Mahir, once you do the frsky rf mod, you can also choose to buy the FLD02 screen, that will save you the telemetry mod, the screen connects to the rf module on your tx and shows RSSI strength and other info given you have the correct sensors.

@mahir.asrani
Are you thinking of FPV?
For normal flying, i doubt if you would run out of Tx/Rx range as long as you are able to see the model well enough to control it!
(Unless it is a 3-4m span sailplane flying away in a thermal)

Why did you get this doubt in the first place?
Your quad will probably be out of sight long before you are out of range!

I have the Frsky telemetry suggested by Girish, but except for experimenting with it last year, i never felt the need for it. (Tried to set it up just now, but forgot how!)

If you don't like bidding, the same Tx+Rx is available for buy it now for around 40$ (It's still a good price !! ) .
And you can get a CCD for less than 20$ .
But I recommend to go for a Mobius action cam (60-70$) Or 808 #16 V3 with LensD (40 - 50 $ for original) because you get on board recording function too.

Sooraj sir
Recording is not issue i need fpv and for recording i can attach my digital camera isn't that great i have one camera nikon coolpix and yeah that too have av cable comes out with red , white and yellow cables can i use that for fpv cam
Title: Re: Tx with these features
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 06, 2014, 10:10:21 PM
well if you have AV out in your camera, you can definitely use it for FPV, but you should consider the weight of camera - How much does this coolpix weigh?
And another thing, is as these digicams are not light weight and they have a protruding lens, they get seriously damaged under crashes,
But a camera like 808 or mobuis or even gopro, are extremely light weigh (50 - 100 Gm) and they will sustain much crashes.
Title: Re:
Post by: mahir.asrani on December 06, 2014, 10:26:43 PM
Don't know the weight but i tried to lift that and it works my quad lift that camera :D
Crashes ?? No way that is why i need telemetry btw how this topic reached to fpv then camera's anyway i will do this after mod my turnigy 9xr ;)
Title: Re: Tx with these features
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 06, 2014, 10:30:25 PM
yeah, topic is diverted, sorry for that.
Even I have lifted my Fujifilm 14MP HD movie cam, with my quad, with out Telemetry nor gps (KK2.0 on board). Got some video but there was vibrations, But still this is not a good option as the camera unnecessarily adds weight to your Quad, and hence less flight time.
Title: Re:
Post by: mahir.asrani on December 06, 2014, 10:49:39 PM
Yes, but i have 3300mah batt
Anyway how far did u go woth ur quad ( i mean distance )

If u try to mount cam with thin sheet of sponge this helps in absorbing vibration
Title: Re: Tx with these features
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 07, 2014, 08:53:19 AM
I couldn't measure how far I flew, but I know I have flown it till it is just a spot in air.
Also I have flown to a building 700Mts away from my home, from my terrace this building is Line of sight.

You have 3300mAh, battery and you have to tie a digi - cam, then your quad have to lift so much weight can you post , what are your motors and the frame weight ?
Title: Re: Re: Tx with these features
Post by: mahir.asrani on December 07, 2014, 12:38:21 PM
X600 frame x 1
HobbyKing KK 2.1 LCD Flight Controller
SunnySky Angel 2212 980 KV motors x 4
SimonK 30A ESC x 4
1045 Propeller x 2 pairs (Black Green)

Weight ? Don't know :-X it was a kit same as quadkopters.com have

I just saw a video YouTube that a guy fly his quad in night without any fear how do they do i mean wht if quad goes out of range .? I never fly my quad more than 600m i think
