Its not 'cooling down' thats the way of giving a Salute to an aircraft!
But what i am aware that the water shower is given to the aircraft which is going out of service or decommissioned...!!!!
It is a custom to welcome aircraft for the first time with such showers.

More for acclamatization, you see the plane was manufactured in cooler clime and then lands into Indian heat and dust so it gets a shower to freshen up and cool it down :giggle: :giggle:
